30' Hunter 31 Cruisers

ON DECK:

Starting from her sugar scoop transom, the Hunter 31 is a simple pleasure. There's an integrated three step swim ladder, at her stern- centerline. Her cockpit is spacious, comfortable and well appointed. 'Iluna' is outfitted with the optional folding helm, hot and cold aft deck shower, and folding cockpit table and twin stern rail seats.� 

Overhead is her bimini. This stainless steel structured arch is integrated with an overhead traveller and main sheet controls with a window for ease of sail trim. The bimini is also outfitted with speakers and overhead lights. Her canvas has many more seasons to be enjoyed. Moving forward, there are breaks in the lifelines on either side of the cockpit. providing comfortable side boarding access. All the sheets and halyards lead aft into the cockpit; this arrangement of sail controls is easy for a single or short handed crew. The main furls within the mast and the petit headsail is set into a furler. 'Iluna' is outfitted with a radar dome on her mast as well.� 

She boasts nice wide side decks, an anchor locker with bow roller and plentiful chain for anchoring. Her "hollow bow" design arches inwards to provide a sturdy ride through waves. The hull and deck joints are thru bolted every eight inches. Her topsides are clean white gelcoat and her bottom has a fresh coat of red ablative paint this Spring 2021.�

Traveling down her wide companionway, her salon opens to her cherry wood interior and� L-shaped galley to starboard. The galley is outfitted with a single basin SS sink. ice box style refrigeration, two burner stove top, dedicated rubbish bin and ample storage.� 

Aft of the galley and to starboard is the vessel's spacious aft cabin/ quarter berth. The sleeping arrangements within this cabin are transverse to the lines of the boat. Panels are the foot of the berth reveal access to systems and there's a cedar lined hanging locker within the cabin. Overhead is a sizable opening port, that opens to the vessel's cockpit. This affords the occupant abundant natural ventilation and light.� 

To port of the companionway steps is the vessel's head. 'Iluna' has been upgraded to a compostable marine head. This choice omits the need for a blackwater system and holding tank. The head sink faucet extends to double as a shower head with sump pump below to drain overboard.� 

Forward of the head, to port, is the dedicated navigation station, power panels and battery switch. The navigation station faces aft with seating provided by the port salon settee. Centerline in the salon is a large table. The drop leaf raises to port and provides comfortable dining accommodations for six to eight persons. The settee to starboard is L-shaped and incredibly plush. The soft goods below deck are original and in nearly new condition.� 

At the forward bulkhead of the salon, to port, is another hanging locker. Forward is the V-berth with circular overhead hatch and insert cushion. Each opening port has its own dedicated bug screen for comfort while cruising.� 

Underfoot is a very clean, cherry and holly cabin sole with easily accessed and clean bilge compartments.�

Maximum efficiency and comfort has been built into the interior of the Hunter 31. The forward cabin is larger than those in most boats of this class, achieved by adjusting the forward hull shape without affecting performance. A private aft cabin is also provided on the Hunter 31, along with an enclosed head with vanity and shower. The galley has an icebox style fridge, two-burner stove and stainless steel sink. Designer fabrics run throughout the Hunter 31, and the interior layout is clean and streamlined. You'll love the Hunter 31's seakindly handling as well.� 

The computer-designed, solid fiberglass hull is the result of extensive testing and special engineering. Hunter designed the 31 considering both the weights of a small 1-2 person crew and larger 8-10 person crew with gear to insure low drag efficiencies under a variety of load and wind conditions. Henderson says the balanced spade rudder they designed for the 31 has good clean flow over foil sections, and helps make the boat fast and fun to sail. Hunter continues its concept of low maintenance exteriors with its all fiberglass deck. The cockpit is roomy and features a Lewmar Direct Drive steering system, folding wheel, hot/cold transom shower and a stern rail with integrated seats.

Hunter's proven easy-to-sail B & R fractional rig system consists of a Selden anodized mast, with in-mast furling and jib furling. Hunter's famous arch-mounted mainsheet traveler and helm sheeting package that allow control of jib sheets from the back of the boat.� �
