Topside Additions and Modifications


TOPSIDES

Custom Stainless Fabrications and Modifications

  • Custom designed and fabricated Hard Dodger W/Rainier windows, and handholds in the cockpit, for exiting/entering cockpit, and on top of the hard dodger for going forward.  Hard Dodger has white lights on a dimmer switch, red night-lights, and two reading lights.  All lights LED.
  • Redesigned stainless bow pulpit - The new bow pulpit is 4" higher, has less shear and outboard overhang, and is extended 4' aft. 
  • All original stanchions replaced with new 4" higher stanchions, w/ 4" base plates welded to the stanchions and bedded to the deck.  All of the stanchions are through-bolted and re-bedded.
  • Lifelines replaced with stainless, non-coated lifelines. The lifelines stop at the side gates and aft of the gates double stainless rails replace lifelines. The gates have stainless steel reinforcement arms mounted to the deck flange for support when boarding from the dock.
  • Integrated Arch, aft pulpit, and lifeline rail forward to the gate are one-piece stainless, 4" higher than original lifelines.  All are through-bolted, with welded 4" base plates bedded to the deck, and the arch is reinforced through-hull.
  • Arch holds solar panels through-bolted and held by stainless 1 ½ rims. 
  • Arch includes articulating motor hoist, davits (Garhauer blocks and tackle) and storage space for SUP paddles and boat hooks, and 6 cleats (3 port, 3 starboard).  
  • Arch has a mounting post for KVH satellite TV and various antennas. Two articulating LED white deck lights, one red light, with light controls on cockpit pedestal.    
  • Aft pulpit incorporates custom stainless motor mount for large outboard (10 hp Yamaha) on the starboard aft pulpit with stainless supports on the transom, holding motor low and out of helmsman’s field of vision.  Motor mount for smaller outboard (2 hp Honda) is on port rail aft.
  • Aft pulpit incorporates custom stainless BBQ mount, for Magma Catalina II infrared, plumbed to ship propane, with stainless support arms on the transom. Holds BBQ secure underway, below aft pulpit lifelines, and out of the field of vision.   
  • Aft pulpit incorporates stainless handrails from pulpit to bottom of the open transom steps at the swim ladder. A great addition for boarding a dingy at the stern, or boarding the boat while swimming. 
  • 4' stainless handrails added port and starboard on cabin sides for safety leaving the cockpit.
  • 4 stainless padeyes bedded to forward cabin top for use for tie-downs.
  • Stainless, folding arms on port stanchions for SUPs or kayaks.
  • Custom Transom "Starboard" gate to allow access to cockpit floor locker underway
  • Custom Stainless folding steps allowing better, safer access to deep transom lockers under port and starboard helm seats.

Anchoring System - At the Bow

  • Redesigned, welded, reinforced Anchor Roller, with solid fittings to secure anchor underway, custom-designed to fit 88 lb Rocna. 
  • Stainless ½ inch roll bar type chain guard welded on anchor roller to prevent chain jumping off roller while raising or lowering the anchor.              
  • Oversized stainless deck mounting to secure anchor shank, with ¾ inch stainless pin. 
  • Original anchor and rode replaced with 88 lb Rocna and 300 ft. of 3/8 HT chain.
  • Quickline Ultra No. 13 Stainless swivel customized to accommodate 88 lb Rocna, strong and designed to flip anchor to correct position on the roller when raising.
  • Bridle snubber with 25 ft. ¾ inch mega braid legs with Quickline No. 10 quick-release chain hook. Spare snubber and back-up snubber bridle legs.  
  • Custom "StarBoard" shelf in anchor locker to accommodate snubber, spares, and wash-down hose.  Allows chain rode to drop freely to deep anchor well, but access to all other anchoring necessities stored on the StarBoard shelf.
  • Fresh and Saltwater wash-down outlets with foot controls at the bow.
  • Wireless remote to operate both windless and bow thruster from the same remote.  Allows the person at the bow to keep the bow into the wind while raising and lowering the anchor.

Stern Anchor

  • Custom fabricated large stern anchor roller/fairlead, through-bolted and bedded to the transom, leading stern anchor rode to the port electric primary winch.
  • Ultra 18 pound stainless stern anchor mounted on the stern arch, with 5 ft. 5/16 chain HT chain lead, 3/8 stainless shackles, and 250 ft. 5/8 mega braid rode (also functions as back-up main anchor rode)

Interior Additions and Modifications


Forward Cabin Remodel

The original configuration was two small cabins, with two small heads. This has been converted to one large master quality stateroom, one head and one dedicated shower room with sink, and made numerous improvements to all areas.

The original wood panel separating two small cabins was removed, and the wood was saved for other custom cabinetry down below. 

  • Custom king size bed from Yacht Bedding installed.  Thick 7 inch mattress, with grass green Sunbrella cover top, prevent mildew and hinged in middle for fold over storage access below the bed. 
  • Both hanging lockers were remodeled with back panels removed and leatherette installed on the hull. This enlarged the hanging lockers to accommodate many more items.
  • Two Caframo Bora Bora 3 speed fans and two articulating reading lights installed.
  • Two additional sliding cabinet drawers installed.
  • Toilet and holding tank removed from the port head to allow a dedicated shower room and additional storage shelves added to the area vacated by the holding tank. 
  • Soap and lotion dispenser installed.  
  • Continuous flow shower water lever installed, with separate sump and sump pump.  
  • Custom inlaid full-length mirror installed in the shower door.
  • New Jabsco Quiet Flush regular bowl toilet in the forward (as well as aft) head.  
  • Stainless latches and stops installed on all doors to hold doors underway.
  • Head is converted to freshwater and intake through-hull was removed

Main Salon

  • Large floor to ceiling custom pantry built by a master carpenter. The pantry has 5 adjustable shelves and is 22” wide and 20” deep. The door is cut from the previous door to the forward cabin, so the pantry is a total match to the rest of the boat interior wood and style.
  • Custom bookcases built on both starboard and port behind settees.  Adds 8 feet of secure shelf space for books and cruising guides.  All secure underway.
  • All settee/dinette/chair cushions upholstered 3 years ago with high quality, soft cream leatherette, matching wood tone, and headliner. 
  • All salon window shades replaced in 2018 by Boat Blinds International with custom-designed, accordion soft-white shades matching headliner. 
  • Two Caframo Bora Bora 3 speed fans installed  (port and starboard).
  • Two additional 120 v electrical outlets installed.
  • Custom TV mount installed on articulating, hinged door, for LG smart TV.
  • Satellite TV controller and separated DVD.  Over the air TV antenna.
  • Breaker panels replaced, one added, and all descriptions have been redone to replace Jeanneau’s combination French and English.  
  • Control panels installed for tank monitor, solar, watermaker, and shore power/generator.   
  • Weems and Plath Bronze clock and barometer installed.

Galley

  • The refrigerator and freezer were totally redone.  As a result of the improvements listed below, the refrigerator and freezer keep items as cold as you want, including hard frozen fish, meats, and ice cream, even in tropical climates.    
  • All empty voids outside the refrigerator and freezer compartments were filled with sprayed insulation.  
  •  New plates were installed in both compartments
  • One small Vitrifrigo (Danfoss) compressor was replaced with two large         Vitrifrigo (Danfoss) compressors.
  • One Frigoboat keel cooler was replaced with two Frigoboat keel coolers.
  • Two Coastal Climate digital thermostat/controllers were added and mounted to a panel in the galley, one for the freezer and one for the refrigerator.           This allows monitoring the refrigerator and freezer temperature, and setting the desired temperature, without opening the refrigerator or freezer boxes.
  • Installed new, larger gimbaled Stove and Oven (Seaward Princess Model 3174).
  • Installed new, larger Microwave Oven (G.E.) and rebuilt cabinet to accommodate it.
  • Cabinetmaker made and installed two custom spice racks and utensil holder matching wood in the galley.
  • Cabinetmaker made and installed a large two-shelf galley cabinet, with a fiddled dinnerware holder that accommodates place settings for 12 and is secure underway.
  • Installed a Seagull IV water purifier with a stainless facet at the sink.  Filters bacteria and viruses, and other microorganisms found in Mexico and tropics.  
  • Installed Caframo Bora Bora 3 speed fan in the galley.
  • Installed separate breakers for galley outlets and microwave.  
  • Installed LED white/red light.  Used for night work in the galley.

 Aft Cabin and Head

  • Custom king size bed from Yacht Bedding installed.  Thick 7-inch dual mattress.
  • Two Caframo Bora Bora 3 speed fans.
  • Two additional 120-volt outlets
  • Cabinetmaker modified shelf with an added fiddle to hold items underway.
  • TV behind cabinet door on articulating metal mount.  DVD underneath the TV. 
  • One Caframo Bora Bora 3 speed fan added in the aft head.
  • New Jabsco Quiet Flush Toilet in aft head.


System Additions and Modifications


Fuel System

  • One water tank was removed and replaced it with Jeanneau made fuel tank custom fit for the boat, doubling fuel capacity to 126 gallons in two tanks. Water capacity also 126 gallons in two tanks.
  • The fuel filter system has been completely redesigned.  Similar to the Filter Boss system. The generator has a dedicated Racor filter. The engine has two Racor filters with a selection valve to chose which to use (or use both). The selection valve added for which tank to pull fuel from. Changes can be made underway to switch from clogged to clean the filter.  
  • Racor filter pressure and water alarms added at the navigation station and on the panel at companionway steps for ease of monitoring underway.  
  • Fuel polishing system added with a pump to polish fuel using dual filters, and on/off switch at navigation station breaker panel.
  • Oil change pump added. 
  • Fuel tanks cleaned three times to eliminate the build-up of microorganisms and sledge.

Water System

  • Spectra Catalina 300 Mark II watermaker, with a digital control panel at the navigation station.  Auto flush model so no pickling necessary.  Unit installed in the front part of the sail locker for easy access and maintenance.
  • Toilets converted to freshwater system, and all saltwater intake through-hulls from toilets and removed shower room toilet were removed, plugged, and fiberglassed.
  • All under waterline through-hulls removed and replaced with quality bronze seacocks.
  • Seagull IV water purifier added with stainless steel faucet at galley sink.
  • Installed a high capacity Rule 3700 bilge pump to supplement the original bilge pump.

Electrical and Electronics

  • Custom battery mounts to place six batteries low and evenly spaced below floorboards.
  • Six Lifeline 200 amp AGM batteries (less than a year old).
  • New Mastervolt CombiMaster 12/3000 - 160 A inverter/charger.
  • Two Panasonic High Output Solar Panels.  450 Watts.  Max output 37.5 amps per hour.
  • Outback Controller for high output panels.
  • Original VHF replaced with Standard Horizon Matrix GX 220 AIS/GPS w/cockpit RAM mic
  • Separate AIS receiver/transmitter added.
