Back Cove 29
"The style of the Down East lobster boat has been closely associated with Maineâs proud boat building heritage. The Back Cove 29 is an... example of everything that makes the Down East lobster boat a work of art. She has a traditional spoon bow and her transom is gently sloped: a style that will turn heads in any harbor she enters.
Below the surface she is modern and contemporary. A deep-vee hull with prop recess and standard trim tabs offers comfort and performance... With the optional 315 horsepower, 6 cylinder diesel engine, she reaches a top end of 29 knots and will cruise very comfortably in the mid 20âs. Around the docks, you will appreciate the maneuverability provided by her standard bow thruster.
The Back Cove 29 is practical and beautiful. She is a delight to drive and a joy to behold." ~ Back Cove 29 Brochure
Hull and Deck StructureÃ? Ã? Ã? "The subject vessel is constructed of conventionalÃ? fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP). The hull is a partiallyÃ? cored reinforced fiberglass molding, hand laid up, usingÃ? unidirectional fabrics with resin and stiffened with ââ?¬Å?glassedââ?¬ï¿½Ã? in bulkheads, structural members, joinery flanges, and fittings.Ã? The deck structure is a single unit and was molded using layersÃ? of woven roving and mat in an unverified core construction. TheÃ? deck structure is fitted with two (2) hatches, four (4)Ã? opening port-lights and molded non-skid surface in weather deckÃ? traffic areas." ~ Marine Survey from Theriault Marine Consulting, LLC dated June 25, 2020
