Some noteworthy features AERO RIG and Engines!Engines and saildrives were replaced in 2011
Aero Rig sail handling system, rotating mast and boom.
The Aero Rig features a single Kevlar boom stretching fore and aft on a rotating, free standing, carbon fibre mast. This makes the rig "semi-balanced".
It self tacks, but one of the true benefits is that it makes a "soft jibe" when sailing downwind.
Just turn the wheel and the main comes around and the force of the jib dampens the turn of the rig and it stops in place when on the opposite tack.
This is one of the safest and most easy to sail rigs ever with NO ACCIDENTAL Jibes.
Once the sails are raised and trimmed a single lightly loaded control line leading into the cockpit controls the entire rig and all sail trim functions. As the apparent wind changes, just trim or ease the main control sheet to optimize sailing trim.
There is no standing rigging to maintain or replace.
