AccommodationsAccommodates up to five in two staterooms and the salon in a modified Grand Banks layout. Beautiful varnished teak joiner work throughout with some minor flat panels in the staterooms finished in linen white. The equally attractive cabin sole is teak parquet and is also varnished. The interior is wonderfully bright and airy thanks to the numerous windows (many of them sliding with screens) and hatches while artificial light is provided by stylish brass Grand Banks swivel reading lamps at each berth and settee as well as several teak framed overhead lights. Season extending warmth can be provided either the reverse cycle air conditioning (heat or cooling).
Starting forward is the Guest Stateroom with 6'6" V-berth below which there is storage in six drawers and a locker below the berth (as well as some bin type storage well forward) and in the voluminous hanging locker aft of the port V. The hanging locker is lined . Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished teak ceilings and custom bookshelves P&S. Adjoining the forward stateroom is a private Guest Head featuring a cultured marble vanity and sink with H&C pressure water, good storage and an ensuite shower with separate sump, manual W.C. plumbed via a Y-valve to the holding tank. The forward cabin may be given complete privacy by means of a louvered teak door and sliding overhead teak hatch (currently in storage).
Up three steps to the wonderfully bright and airy Main Salon with Galley to port and Lower Helm Station to starboard. The Main Salon features a 6'6" L-shaped settee to starboard below which there is storage in a drop face locker fwd and a large cargo drawer aft. Dining is off of the superbly detailed Grand Banks teak drop leaf table with silverware drawer, secret storage compartment, and bottle storage below. Forward of the settee is a locker which houses the Single Side Band and provides additional storage; a cushion is fitted atop it so that it may be used as bit pf a helm seat when the yacht is operated from the lower helm station. Further forward is the starboard side door and step to the side deck below where there is storage. Opposite the L-settee is the port side door aft of which is a custom cabinet housing a top loading freezer compartment.
The Galley is forward and to port and is the standard Grand Banks configuration for the 36 and features refrigeration box fitted with SeaFrost 12 volt refrigeration system. The teak/stainless door is fitted for the box. The original stove was removed in '97 and upgraded to a three burner Princess propane stove with oven plumbed to two 20 pound LPG cylinders. At the aft end of the galley is a pull out cutting board that further expands the work surface and above this is a cabinet with two lockers, while forward is a flip top crockery storage unit. Additional storage is in four drawers and two lockers. Opposite the range is the convenient tip out trash bin. The entire galley area provides for a very functional food preparation area with ample storage for food stuffs, utensils, and dinnerware. Single basin stainless sink with pressure H&C water, separate faucet with filtered potable water and third faucet with manual salt water pump (great for preliminary rinising on long cruises vs. using fresh water from the tank)
Three steps down, aft of the Salon is the Master Stateroom which features a double berth 4" wider than the standard Grand Banks double, to starboard. Below the berth there is excellent storage three cargo drawers. Outboard of the drawers there is still plenty of bin type storage for items that one does not wish to access routinely. On centerline is a bureau with nine drawers and hideaway steps to egress through the aft companionway. To port is a single berth with storage under in 3 drawers; built in 12V and 110V lighting.
Forward and to port is a voluminous hanging locker with shelf and automatic light, while opposite to starboard is the Master head featuring a separate stall shower, cultured marble vanity and sink and manual W.C. (new 2104) plumbed via a Y-valve to the holding tank. Unlike the standard boats the owner has added a hatch over the shower compartment. An additional improvement is a diverter valve that recirculates the hot water as it warms to save water as one waits for it to warm.

AdditionalPurchased by her current owners 12 years ago, this Grand Banks 36 has been cruised extensively since then including a Great Loop trip 2007/08, since then every other year it has been off to the Bahamas. They are fastidious in their approach to her care and THIRD REEF shows exceptionally well throughout. This latter sentence cannot be stressed more highly!
