OVERVIEW
SUNSHINE was built and launched in Cape Town, South Africa, by Gunboat in 2010. Her beautiful birch interior cabinetry was constructed by Tremont in Canada. Interior textiles were shipped from various countries by Rhoades-Young and locally upholstered in Cape Town.
From the tender, one boards via teak-laid integrated transom steps on each hull. Both sets of steps meet on the aft deck, which features two mirrored L-shaped settees and two coffee tables with built-in tilt-and-lift video screens. There are additional steps on each hull leading to the side decks forward and to a sun-lounge area on the bridge deck roof.
Twin sliding stainless steel doors separate the saloon from the aft deck. When opened, they create a large, open social area. To port are two L-shaped settees with twin coffee tables that convert to make a large dining table. To starboard is the galley and bar. In the center is an island that contains the large-screened TV on a lift, refrigeration and storage lockers for day-sailing guests’ belongings. Forward of the center island is the helm station with surrounding instrumentation and monitors. To either side of the wheel are stainless steel sliding doors leading to both the forward cockpit and sailing controls. To starboard of the helm is a settee.
On the port side of the saloon there is a passageway leading to a day head and two large guest cabins. On the starboard side of the saloon, there is a passageway leading to the owner’s cabin aft and the VIP cabin forward.
Crew cabins are located forward of the main living bridge deck area, each with its own entrance into the hulls.

REMARKS
SUNSHINE has set the bar for luxury/performance catamaran sailing at race-boat speeds. Without a doubt, SUNSHINE is one of the fastest-sailing superyachts on the water.
In 8 knots true wind, SUNSHINE can go 12 knots upwind. In trade conditions, upwind speeds of 15-17 knots are easily achieved, and off-wind sailing can be in the high 20’s.
Started by Gunboat, South Aftrica, the design concept had been to simplify sailing at speed. Utilizing forward-thinking design and modern materials, sailing a yacht like SUNSHINE is easy and enjoyable. Every guest has left with a smile from ear to ear after a try at the wheel. The headsail is self-tacking, and the mainsheet is hydraulic. To tack the boat, simply turn the wheel. At the helm the captain has a clear, unobstructed 360-degree view of the surroundings. There are a number of lounge areas for guests, both inside and outside. Interior accommodations and joinery details rival some of Europe’s finest builders with the final completion of the yacht accomplished by the efforts of the knowledgeable captain and an empowering owner in the USA.
SUNSHINE is the owner’s second Gunboat. Desiring superyacht luxury and space, but not wanting the operating costs of a half-dozen crew, a larger Gunboat made sense. After all, if a 62-foot Gunboat could be sailed by one, then surely the same concept could be applied to a 90-foot design. In simple terms, SUNSHINE is the ultimate luxury performance sailing yacht. Behind the beautiful appointments are some of the most advanced construction techniques, sail handling, electrical management and cutting-edge entertainment systems available today.
