Introduction
SPRINGBOK is one of the finest Grand Banks Eastbay 49's built in the early years of production of this extremely popular Downeast express. SPRINGBOK's knowledgeable owners had a great deal of input in original design of the Eastbay 49' and the detailed specifications of SPRINGBOK's build order, including several semi-custom, well thought out additions. The sellers spent several months working with both Grand Banks and C. Raymond Hunt and Associates. SPRINGBOK has been updated with the extended helm deck windows both port and starboard that were added to the later model Eastbay 49's. She was repowered with new Caterpillar C-12 705hp engines in 2004 when the issues with the original Caterpillar 3196 engines became extremely problematic. SPRINGBOK's owners paid dearly for this upgrade which as of this date continues to be the current standard engine used in the new Eastbay 49's since the C-12's introduction in 2003. This upgrade provides a great deal of confidence in SPRINGBOK's power compared to any other Eastbay 49s of this vintage. SPRINGBOK's Caterpillar C-12s have also had light use with approximately 650 total hours since their installation.
SPRINGBOK is now for sale due to the sellers recent purchase of a new 2013 model Grand Banks Eastbay 50 SX. The sellers have had such a fantastic experience with their Eastbay 49 that they have partnered with Grand Banks Yachts again to begin a new venture in this fantastic new model. They will be very involved in the introduction of this new Eastbay just as they were with the Eastbay 49.
