Vessel Walk Thru
ROARING BULL is a beautifully finished Duffy 48 with accommodations for up to 5 in a 2 stateroom galley up layout. Headroom is an incredible 6'-9"+ below and 6'-5" in the salon/galley space. Throughout, the yacht is finished "Herreshoff Style" with varnished Cherry trim on white flat panels. The cabin sole in the salon is carpet while the soles below are varnished Teak & Holly. With her 6 opening stainless steel ports, three large hatches and salon wrapped in windows including 4 large and one small sliding window there is an abundance of natural light and ventilation. When mother nature is not accommodating, 3 reverse cycle (heats & cools) will make the interior comfortable in virtually any reasonable cruising conditions. 12 volt lighting throughout with literally dozens of overhead Cantalupi dome style lamps and swivel style reading lamps at both berths.
Starting forward is the Master Stateroom with a 6'-8" X 5' island queen style berth below which there is 6 large "cargo" drawers. To P&S there are his and hers hanging lockers and bureaus with 3 large drawers and 1 smaller drawer and then a full length with fiddle. The separate Master Head is aft and to port (photos to follow) featuring a Vacuflush fresh water W.C. plumbed directly to the holding tank, good sized vanity with sink with H&C pressure water and storage. A separate stall shower adjoins and drains to a sep. sump with pump.
The fore and aft companionway has three storage lockers to port followed by the Guest Stateroom as one heads aft. This state room is fitted with a 6'-4" by 4'-6" double berth with storage drawers and lockers below. Aft is a small bureau and forward is a 2nd small bureau and hanging locker.
Across the companionway to starboard is the Guest Head with separate stall shower with seat and sep. drain with pump, Vacuflush W.C. fresh water flush plumbed directly to the holding tank and vanity with storage.
A Utility Room is next aft. This space houses Grenert Holding plate freezer boxes, has space for a washer dryer unit and other storage, the yachts electrical distribution panels, storage and work space.
Up 4 steps to the Galley, Salon and Lower Helm Station. The Galley is a Chef's delight with expansive Corian counter tops with double basin Corian sinks and extensive storage in several lockers and drawers. Cooking is handled off the 3 burner Princess propane cooktop and Panasonic convection microwave oven. Chilled food stuffs are stowed in the large top loading Grunert holding plate boxes.
Forward and to port is the L-shaped dining settee with storage below. The varnished Cherry table has leaves that fold out so that the table can easily accommodate six.
Opposite to starboard is the lower helm station with full vessel controls and partial set of navigational equipment (see electronics).
Aft of the helm is a large L-shaped sofa and then an entertainment center with pop-up TV and additional storage aft. On centerline the sliding door with varnished teak framed screen slider provides access to the cockpit.
The full width cockpit with transom door and under deck storage lockers provides plenty of room for deck chairs. At the forward bulkhead is a small wet bar with sink with H&C water and additional storage while yet further storage and access to the steering gear may be found under the three lazarette hatches.
An appropriately sloped, for easy acccess, stainless steel ladder to port leads to the flying bridge. The flying bridge affords comfortable seating for at least 8 on bench seats with storage below and Pomanette (these are not currently onboard) seats for the Captain and Navigator. A custom Nomex hard top with rugged stainless steel supports was carefully designed to mimic the line of the boat and avoids the maintainence and replacement cost of canvas bimini and is equipped with two hatches. 3/4 enclosure in excellent condition.
The aft section of the flying bridge has a Nautical Structures electric Davit, dinghy chocks and liferaft mounted.
Wide side decks with convenient hand holds lead to the bow and from the forward end of the wheelhouse there is a stainless steel safety rail.
Throughought the interior and exterior this Duffy 48 shows a high level of maintenance.
