Construction
Hull hand laid-up fiberglass with 20mm R62-80 Airex sandwich core. Full length box section stringers along hull. Marine ply bulkheads with Airex shock absorbing edge (rudder rebuilt 1/1/03). Lead keel- 9000lbs flooded with resin and 100% glassed over. Deck hand laid-up fiberglass with 3/4" Baltek balsa wood sandwich core. Teak decks seasoned lumber, quarter sawn with black bedding compound below and in seams, secured to deck by 1" sheet metal screws, countersunk and plugged. Inlaid teak cabin top. Contoured cockpit seats with teak. Five cockpit seat hatches. Two cockpit coaming latches. LPG double bottle storage locker and ice box in aft cockpit seats. Lazarette partitioned for sail storage. Teak rub rail with stainless chafe strip. Teak cap rail. 1" stainless pulpit and pushpit rails. Double stainless lifelines with two gates, white vinyl coated. Six 8" mooring cleats thru bolted with backing plates and chocks. Double stainless pivoting bow anchor chain roller. Six Bomar 3/8" Lexan with removable screens.
Three stainless cowls and dorade vents with guards and cover plates forward. Two aft stainless cowl vents aft for engine compartment. Stainless mushroom vent over forward stateroom. Five opening cabin port lights with safety glass and screens.
Dodger constructed of extra heavy duty stainless with hand holds. Bimini connects to dodger and includes side curtains with screens for full cockpit enclosure.
In 1999, the bottom and boot stripe were sandblasted and an Interlux 1000/2000 barrier coat system applied. A Micron CSC Extra bottom coat anti fouling finish was then applied.
Rudder & Steering System Rudder and skeg of airfoil section with massive stainless internal reinforcement, FRP construction with closed cell PU foam filling.
