EnginesCloud IX was repowered in 2014 with an ELCO electric hybrid engine system.
The ELCO 7000 has the horsepower equivalent of a 70 HP diesel engine, and, with 170 gallons of diesel, the range under power is 1,000 miles. Maintenance is only required on the engine every 50,000 hours! And the eco-footprint is minimal.
The hybrid system is powered by a full and brand new battery bank of 9 12V batteries, which are charged by a new Westerbeke 12.6 BTD diesel generator with only 386 hours on it at the time of listing.
This is one of the very few cruising sailboats you will see of this vintage and quality that has been fully upgraded with hybrid propulsion.
