1988 Sabre MK II CB
In 1988 Sabre Yachts introduced The MK II version of their 38. It was the model
that made the other manufacturers redo their mid size range to include a private
double berth quarter cabin. The MK II had the accommodations and feel on the
water of a 40 footer. Sabre offered three keel version (a deep fin drawing 6'6"; a
wing keel drawing 4'11" and a keel centerboard version drawing 4'3" ) "Lighten Up" is the centerboard version, which is the best choice for the Chesapeake and Bahamas.
This Sabre has been upgraded over the last 6 years in anticipation of long term cruising.
Some of the upgrades include the following:

Accomodations/Layout
At 6'4", there’s plenty of headroom below, along with two private cabins, wellappointed
galley, 7 berths, an expansive salon, head and navigation station.
There is a private aft cabin to port with a double berth, wide seat, hanging locker,
storage and opening, screened portlights.
Just forward of the aft cabin is a well-appointed galley, with oven, rangetop,
double stainless steel sinks, refrigerator and ample storage.
To starboard, the large head is aft, with a shower, sink, vanity, and commode
(replaced in 2009).
The nav station is outboard to starboard, with a proper storage desktop, main
panel, Victron Battery Monitor, VHF, battery switch, and stereo.
The main salon features a large dining area with contoured seating and a
handsome teak table. The large table folds away up into the bulkhead, covering a
wine or food storage rack, and the port settee converts to a double berth. The
starboard settee serves as another berth.
The forward cabin has a wide V-berth with custom mattress (2014), long enough
for two adults to sleep comfortably, a hanging closet and an elegant vanity with
medicine cabinet, sink, and settee. There’s ample storage and an overhead
