1973 Grand Banks 42 SILENT AUCTION SALE

The seller of this boat has decided to offer it on a strictly “AS IS” basis for cash only to the highest bidder who responds by February 28, 2016 and can finalize the purchase by March 10, 2016.

The new listing price of $25,000 or best offer is offered as a guide and the successful, accepted bid may be for more or less than the listed price. Email bids will be kept in confidence. The successful bidder will then be required to execute a standard purchase agreement with no contingencies accompanied by a wire transfer of 10% of the offered price within 48 hours. This will be the FINAL offer. The balance due must also be wire transferred into our trust account and all purchase documents must be completed by March 10, 2016 to finalize the purchase.

This boat is in need of a buyer that has the ability to bring this boat up to his or her particular standards. That will mean different things to each potential buyer. Any survey must be completed prior to submitting a bid for the boat at the buyers expense by a surveyor of his or her choice.

Grand Banks is renowned for its seaworthiness from its heavy displacement, full length keel, hard chine and deep draft.  The 42 Classic is an exceptional craft that has held its value and continues to deliver top performance.  1973 is the first year Grand Banks made a fiberglass hull.  This boat has a traditional yacht look, featuring Grand Banks’ famous artistry in golden Burmese teak, hand-crafted parquet soles, rich hued ceilings, hand carved rails, fitted cabinetry and trim.  She is powered with twin Ford Lehman’s featuring a flybridge with dual helm.

This Grand Banks 42 Classic is in great condition and would make a great liveaboard.  The engines are completely refurbished, and while most of the mechanical work is done, the remodeling still needs to be completed in the forward lavatory.  The teak decks are in good condition but could use a chemical brightening treatment, and some windows need to be replaced.

The built-in comfort and convenience of the Grand Banks 42 Classic makes it great for liveaboard or long weekends.
