Main Salon

Taina's main salon will impress friends, family and guests alike. Her handcrafted solid cherry interior wordwork is representative of the finest sailing yachts built in America.Featuring a straight settee to port and a curved settee to starboard, there is more than enough room to comfortably accommodate six or more adults. The salon table has fold down leaves for easier access to storage below and outboard of the ultra-leather seating.

Outboard cabinets offer ample storage for beverages, magazines, miscellaneous items and an entertainment center on the port side. The entertainment center features a Sony AM/FM receiver and CD Player, a flat screen TV and DVD Player.

App portlights and overhead hatches are stainless steel. They do not "pit" like aluminum and look as good as new. Deck hatches are fitted with two way screens and blinds by IMTRA.

The cabin sole is custom fitted at the factory and retains its original beauty. Varnished hand rails are strategically placed to allow safe movement throughout the interior when moving about in an active seaway.

The remarkable quality of the Tartan interior is carried over to the sleeping accommodations. The forward cabin features a V-berth with plenty of room for the largest of guests. A vanity with hot and cold running water is to starboard, along with cabinetry for storage pf personal toiletries and a pull-out cosmetics mirror.To port is a large hanging locker for items you prefer to hang rather than fold. The curved settee on the starboard side can convert to a double berth to serve as extra sleeping accommodations for guests or as your main sea berth while underway.

Stainless steel portlights and a large forward hatch provide plenty of natural light and ventilation.

The second cabin is to starboard and aft of the galley. The berth is the equivalent size of a double. Stainless steel port lights open to the starboard hull and to the aft cockpit of the yacht. Again, this cabin features a hanging locker and shelved storage.

Taina's working galley is immediately to starboard of the companionway. It has been designed with a seagoing chef in mind, but also functions perfectly for the impromptu snack as well. The refrigerator is both top and front loading for easy access. Counter space is abundant and surfaced with an acrylic material for easy clean up. A separate waste disposal compartment is provided to avoid the unsightly hanging plastic bag on a door hook.

Her double stainless steel sinks are equipped with a swing faucet supplying both hot and cold fresh water. Taina has an 80 gallon fresh water tank with a tank monitor. Her hot water supply comes from a 6 gallon hot water heater supported by the engine heat exchanger and 110v VAC.

Her stove is a gimballed, three-burner Force 10 LPG unit complete with an oven and broiler.

The navigation station is aft of the port settee. It features a chart table with storage of the navigator's "stuff" under the table. The unit also has four extra storage drawers.Above the chart table is a forward facing panel ideal for the installation of any future electronic equipment. It currently houses the ICOM VHF radio and a red bulb night chart light.

The navigators seat is finished in black ultra swede. The ship's electrical distribution panels are outboard of the nav station. Note both the 12v and 110v sockets at the nav station to provide for power to your laptop and recharging your smart phone.

Taina's head is aft of the nav station on the port side. With standing head room it is appreciated by taller crew. The shower is separate and enclosed with a molded seat. No need to wipe-down the entire area after a shower. The compartment door is easily deployed and stowed without contortionist moves.

The shower drains to a separate sump with automatic electric pump for overboard discharge.

The vanity has a molded Granicote solid surface counter top with an integrated sink.

The marine head has a 24 gallon holding tank with a deck pump out and air vent. The holding tank has a remote level indicator and is equipped with a "Y" valve to allow offshore discharge through a macerator.

The 110v and 12v breaker panels are located at the nav station.

Taina  has Raymarine ST60 Tridata instruments and wind mounted on the companionway pad.

The Raymarine ST6001 below deck autopilot instrument is mounted at the helm.

A radar tower is mounted on the port stern quarter housing a 2kw 18 inch Radom and the Raymarine Raystar 125 GPS antenna

The Radar and Chartplotter displays are integrated into the E80 display at the helm. The chartplotter uses Navionic US charts.

The ICOM VHF mounted at the lower nav station has a connected RAM mic at the helm. The ship's compass is a 5" binnacle  mounted at the helm.

A Raymarine SR100 Serius weather receiver is installed,, but will require a user subscription.

Taina is equipped with a Raymarine Lifetag MOB system

Taina is equipped with a Novis Composites carbon-fiber mast providing greater strength but increased strength. This means increased safety margins and improved performance. The mast is a double spreader design, with white AwlGrip coating. The tapered mast section reduces weight aloft.

By reducing weight aloft, a carbon fiber mast and  boom offer increased stability, reduce pitching inertias, improve dynamic response and reduce rigging loads. This results in better overall safety and stability. These rigs are stronger, stiffer, and lighter than an aluminum mast. This results in an increased righting moment, greater sail carrying ability and vastly improved sailing performance.

The mast is also equipped with Harken battcars making it easy to raise and lower the main within the Lazy Jack system. 2 Single line reefs led aft to a cockpit winch allows reefing from the cockpit.

Her boom is a white AwlGrip coated epoxy and carbon fiber composite "pocket boom" that stores the mainsail within the mainsail canvas cover. The Rod  Boom Vang has a tag line led aft to the cockpit.

Notice that this Tartan 3700 has two roller furling headsails.Upwind, the 3700 is fit with a roller furling, self-tacking jib. The cut is a high aspect ratio upwind blade with a long luff and tight sheeting angles.  Tacking is as simple as putting the helm over, while the jib and mainsail tack themselves. Short tacking out of a harbor or anchorage is done with little effort. Off the wind, the 140% reacher maintains performance with minimal crew effort.

For downwind sailing, Taina has a symmetrical spinnaker and pole. Secondary winches provide added spinnaker controls.

Tartan uses the most advanced materials available in the marine industry today. The combination of unidirectional E-glass, synthetic structural foam coring and epoxy modified vinylester resin produces the strongest and most impact resistant laminate in the marine industry. Our hulls are resin Infused under vacuum to ensure an optimal low-resin, high fiber content. This process consolidates the laminate into a void free matrix and produces the optimum strength to weight ratio in a composite laminate.

Traditional hulls have a 65% to 35% ratio of resin to fiberglass. Tartan's vacuum infused use of epoxy resins reverses the ratio to 65% fiberglass to 35% resin. The strength of the hull comes from the fiberglass while the resin produces the weight. It is easy to see why Tartan hulls are lighter but stronger.

Few, if any other hulls in the industry can match the strength and impact resistance of a Tartan-built yacht. Just as the introduction of polyester fiberglass laminates replaced wood yacht construction in the early 1960’s, Tartan’s infused epoxy modified vinylester laminate now makes those earlier lamination techniques obsolete. Tartan  uses epoxy modified vinylester resin in theirlaminating process. Other builders use polyester resins, which simply cannot achieve the strength, stiffness and osmotic resistance of Tartan hulls. Epoxy resin is more expensive than polyester resin, there is simply no other sensible choice in hull laminate construction.

The Tartan 3700 deck is a composite laminate with unidirectional "E" glass reinforcements and high strength/stiffness Baltek premium AL 600 balsa coring. High load areas of the deck have additional plies of reinforcement.

The Tartan 3700 cockpit is appreciated by both the helmsman and crew members alike. The helm is a 40 inch leather covered wheel with a pedestal mounted set of navigation instruments, a RAM mic, a 5" compass, a single lever throttle/transmission lever, electric engine start/shutoff controls and a remote control panel for the electric windlass. With the added Raymarine ST 6001 Autopilot control, the helm is complete.

The companionway hatch sea hood with an instrument pod housed the TriData instruments.

The cockpit table is a varnished drop leaf design that closes-up for ease of movement but opens up for cockpit dining.

The companionway hatch boards are nicely varnished. When open, the hatch boards are conveniently stowed in the custom slots on the port side of the companionway. No more hatch boards sliding around on an aft bunk!

The swim platform is deployed and raised with a control line in the cockpit. The swim ladder folds down from the swim step. For your convenience, a hot/cold shower is conveniently located in the cockpit.

The cockpit has a full dodger with isinglass covers, side handles for added safety, a connector panel and a Bimini cover.

The stern rail supports an outboard motor mount, a Life Sling and a propane Bar-B-Que.

Taina comes complete with a Walker Bay 8 Dinghy with a hard HIMC hull, a Tube kit and a sail kit. Her outboard is a 2hp Honda.
