Accommodations
This J/109 has been optimized as a performance cruiser though one could still go win races with her if you choose! She has the full varnished Cherry interior with synthetic teak and holly sole along with her upgraded fabrics giving her a warm plush feeling below. Espar diesel cabin heat will extend the sailing season or take the chill off on a damp foggy morning. Headroom below is 6'-2" and all berths and settees are 6'-6" or greater. There is an abundance of natural light and ventilation with 4 large opening ports, 5 smaller opening ports and 2 large hatches, all fitted with screens. Equally well thought out is the artificial lighting with swivel style reading lamps at all berths and settees with dome style lamps in working areas.
Starting forward is the private Forward Stateroom featuring a V-berth with some "bin type" storage under. Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished Cherry ceilings and there is a full length cherry shelf with deep fiddle. Aft and to starboard is a locker with shelves while aft and to port is a hanging locker.
The Main Salon is next aft featuring straight settees P&S. Storage in in lockers and shelves above and in cubbies behind the seat backs. Dining is off of the varnished Cherry drop leaf table with storage underneath (kept covered when not in use). Aft and to starboard in the Salon is the forward Facing Nav. Station with flip top style chart table below which there is a locker with shelves. The nav. seat has storage below as well. Adjoining the Nav. Station are the electrical distribution panels and storage for other nav. sundries is an open compartment.
Opposite the Nav. Station is the L-shaped Galley featuring molded laminate counter tops, double basin polished stainless steel sink, Seagull Filtration System for the water tanks, large refrigeration box fitted with Sea Frost 12 volt DC refrigeration, 2 burner Force 10 gimbaled propane stove with oven and storage in several compartments and lockers.
Aft of the galley is the separate Aft Cabin with Queen width berth above which the hull is lined with varnished Cherry ceilings and a full length storage shelf with fiddle. Forward in the compartment is a hanging locker.
Starboard side aft of the Nav. Station is the enclosed Head with molded laminate vanity and sink, manual W.C. plumbed via Y valve to the holding tank, ensuite shower draining via a separate sump pump and storage. At the aft bulkhead is a door providing access to the large starboard side sail locker that J/109 owners often refer to as the garage (also access from the cockpit of course).
