Accommodations
BLUE RIDGE is a beautiful downeast yacht with wonderful accommodations. This two sleeping cabin yacht has one large head with separate shower stall, galley up, and a large custom salon inside. Oustside, there is a good sized cockpit with teak sole and a transom door leading to the swim platform, and wide side decks with S/S side rails leading to the large foredeck. The flybridge has good comfortable seating and is protected by a new bimini top.
BLUE RIDGE is an exceptional value in today's market. Built to industry high standards by Grand Banks Yachts, designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates; the Eastbay 40 is a wonderful cruising yacht with livability in a fully enclosed, climate controlled vessel. Nobody can beat the Ray Hunt modified deep-V hull for exceptional comfort and sea keeping ability.
BLUE RIDGE benefits from an extensive refit that included 2003/2004 engine repower performed under Caterpillar warranty recall of the original 3116 TA CAT engines. This resulted in an upgrade to the superior CAT 3126 TA 420 hp engines .
During this time, extensive service and maintenance was completed by a Grand Banks dealer to bring on board systems up to proper status, and this has been continued annually by the current (second owner) to ensure reliable operation.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
BLUE RIDGE can easily be boarded from the side boarding steps or the teak swim platform and transom door leading to the cockpit. You may enter the yacht from the cockpit through a sliding door in the center, or from a starboard side door, at the helm.
The cockpit has deck lazarettes and seat lockers for storage space. The wide side decks make movement about the yacht easy and safe. Line handling and anchoring is made easy.. The ladder leading to the flybridge is canted out into the cockpit and was designed to be easy to use. The flybridge has two Pompanette helm sets with chrome pedestals and foot rests. There is a settee for several guests with storage space under, and a locker under the helm. This area is protected by a bimini top on S/S frame.
The interior is built to high standards of solid teak furniture and teak & laminate bulkheads. The sole is teak and holly.
BLUE RIDGE has a large salon with seating for eight and dining for four. There is a free standing hi-lo double drop leaf table that offers flexible space for dining or lounging. The galley is on this level to port. The lower helm is to starboard, across from the galley, with double bench seat and door to side deck. The salon has great ventilation; side windows open, center windshield opens, and there are the two doors. The owners have installed good entertainment systems: Stereo sound with Krell, B&W, and Bose, and Sharp AQUOS flat screen LCD TV can be seen from throughout the salon and galley.
The staterooms are forward, down three steps to the lower passageway with the guest quarters to port, the head & shower to starboard, and the master cabin forward. The guest cabin has a single settee / day bunk that converts to upper and lower bunks for two single berths. This cabin has mirrors, bureau with counter space, extra large hanging locker, and good storage space including night stand with drawers.
The spacious head is across from the guest cabin and features VacuFlush toilet with fresh water flushing, vanity, mirror and lockers. The head has a separate, large stall shower. Natural light and ventilation is provided by S/S ports and a deck hatch.
The spacious master stateroom is forward with large V-berths, two huge hanging lockers and a large three drawer bureau with counter surfaces and additional lockers. There are drawers under the berths and lockers outboard the forward portion of the cabin. As in the entire vessel, light and ventilation are not an issue; in this case there are opening S/S ports and a deck hatch. There is enough floor space in this cabin for two people to move about freely at once.
BLUE RIDGE is air conditioned throughout with reverse cycle air conditioning. The salon has a new AC unit.
GalleyBLUE RIDGE has a galley up layout that works well for many reasons. It keeps the chef in touch with what is going on and with the family and guests. It is more light and airy. The meal does not need to be transported very far to the dining table. Grand Banks has had a lot of input over the years to develop this U-shaped functional layout.
