53' Gulfstar Motor Sailer Center Cockpit

Introduction

OSIRIS was sold to her present owner in 1991, by our company.  The owner is a retired airlline pilot who refitted her through the 90's and then for the past 10 years has cruised the Caribbean full time.  The upgrades have been continuous, so that at this point she has far surpassed what Gulfstar had originally built.  She is set up to be single handed, and has had her mechanicals replaced or rebuilt, her pilothouse refitted with new windows, and her engine room re-insulated with new materials. 

She has had a complete paint job of her hull, deck, and pilothouse in the summer of 2014.  She is due to have new bottom paint and be launched by December, 2014, after which she is available for sea trials and surveys.

Major updates done by the owner include:

• A whole new bottom of vinyl ester resin & isopythalic mat that cured the original blister problems
• In 1998 the Perking engine was shipped to Complete Yacht in Ft. Lauderdale who tore the engine down and rebuilt her to a "zero hour" engine. Presently showing 4200 hours since this rebuild.
• In December of 2005 a new 9.5KW BetaMarine genset was put in to replace the old unit. Presently this unit show 4271 hours.
• The pilothouse was installed, and the helm was moved forward in the cockpit.
• All sails are handled from the pilothouse, with both brand new sails and a set of spare backups in the forward cabin.
• Original Gulfstar construction encapsulated the lead ballast in concrete for safety in any "groundings".

• 2004 - New 130 Genoa, New full batten main & mizzen sails
• 2005 - New Cruiseair marine A/C in aft stateroom
• 2006 - New Betamarine 9.5 Kw generator
• 2012 - New rudder bearings & seals
• 2012 - New insulation in entire engine room
• 2013 - New windows in pilothouse, pilothouse repainted
