Take the helm of the new V58 and you feel an immediate sense of empowerment. The deck plan reflects an array of entertaining opportunities. The plush upholstered aft sunbed lifts hydraulically to reveal a commodious bay, which conveniently stows a waterbike or tender that can be launched and retrieved with an electric winch. Teak planking on the swimming platform conceals a folding swim ladder.

In the teak-planked cockpit, a U-shaped lounge serves as a seating and dining area; opposite is a wet bar with a refrigerator, icemaker and electric grill. The double helm seat to starboard converts to a leaning post for operating the vessel while standing, an alternative position for negotiating rough water at speed. Instruments are housed in a burr panel for easy observation and the standard electronics, including radar, autopilot, and color GPS plotter are interfaced for precise navigation. Power-assisted hydraulic steering allows unequivocal control in steep seas, while the standard bow thruster makes short work of docking and maneuvering in confined harbors. Electronic engine controls deliver crisp response at the touch of a finger. The fiberglass-framed windshield with heavy-duty wipers and washers wraps around the helm and cockpit melding into the radar arch to create an artistic form that follows function. The sunroof features an electrically operated opening fabric center with removable side windows. The raked form of the sunroof is visually attractive and practical as well. When the roof opening is retracted, the helmsman enjoys full-standing height for an unobstructed view over the top of the windshield frame.

The interior is cosmopolitan plush. Designer furnishings are rich, supple and a delight to behold. Stunning lacquered joinery in a choice of classic or natural cherry gleams with a shipwright's pride. The focal point of the saloon is a semi-circular sofa with a hand-finished folding dining table and a pair of removable stools. Overhead lighting sets the mood while a cocktail cabinet and a sophisticated visual and sound entertainment system contribute a most relaxing ambiance. The teak-soled galley to starboard is replete with Avonite countertops, a three-zone electric cooktop, microwave/convection oven with a grill and a large stainless-steel sink. All appliances remain concealed beneath the lustrous joinery when not in use. Stowage throughout the galley and saloon is generous.

The V58 accommodates six adults in three staterooms. The master suite to port houses a large double berth, ensuite head and stall shower. The stateroom is large and inviting with ample stowage, opening ports, dressing table, individual reading lights and a cedar-lined hanging locker. Forward, guests will enjoy a restful stay in the VIP stateroom with its double berth and ensuite head. A third stateroom to port has twin single berths.
