Manufacturer Provided Description
With a hull design that maximizes performance and a deck design that optimizes space, the Meridian 408's aft cabin configuration has plenty of room for family and friends. Exceptional interior visibility gives everyone views of the magnificent surroundings. A full-beam salon lets you entertain with ease, while the salon media center features a 24-inch television, VCR, AM/FM stereo and CD player to deliver entertainment in style. A forward head can be accessed from the forward stateroom and salon, for use as a day head. A full-beam master stateroom with regular queen innerspring mattress lets you sleep in luxurious comfort.
AccomodationsSleeps six in two private staterooms and two lounges suitable as single berths.
Guest stateroom features double berth with innerspring mattress, hanging lockers, under-berth drawers, track and directional lighting for reading. Overhead portlight and opening side ports with screens. The head is accessible from the guest cabin.
The master, aft, features a queen berth with innerspring, pillow-top mattress, large hanging lockers with under-berth storage. The en-suite head is split with shower forward, head aft and a mirrored vanity with sink between. There are convenient controls for a dedicated am/fm/cd player and climate controls for the dedicated aft a/c w/reverse cycle heat, accessible from in the berth.
GalleyThe very complete galley features a full size, over/under refrigerator-freezer, three burner electric range, microwave, huge stainless steel sink with spray-wand faucet, Corian countertops, and extraordinary storage. The cherry cabinetry encloses utensil and plate drawers, a massive lazy-susan compartment, and a dedicated waste bin storage compartment. Under the teak and holly sole is a deep in-floor "pantry" with recessed drawer storage.
A notable feature of the 408 galley is its configuration which, though "down" two steps, allows for unobstructed lines of sight throughout the salon as well as the stateroom forward. Also, because of the lower-tier bonded windows, the galley has a panoramic view outside. In short, there is no galley-down design on the market that does a better job of opening up the space and accommodating cooking as well as comfort.
Exterior - Bridge and DeckBoarding from the aft, you'll find a deep and spacious swim platform. The platform features an integrated swim ladder with grab handle, and a protected channel to run your shore power cable through. To starboard is the aft hot and cold shower, and a watertight storage compartment, and to port is the Glendinning cablemaster compartment with a secure cap and controls, and the dockside water inlet. Also, to port is the molded, curved staircase with tall rail for ascending to the back deck via a secure transom door.
The aft deck features a hardtop with full, roll-up eisenglass enclosure. To port and starboard, forward are clear plex wing doors to access the gunnels. To the starboard, forward, there is an aft deck entertainment center featuring ample storage, a sink and wet bar, and an ice maker. Midships is the sliding curved tinted door, with a weather/bug screen, that accesses the salon.
Three gentle steps to port provide access to the bridge. On the bridge, to port, there is another entertainment center with a counter, cabinet, recessed drink holders, and a bridge-fridge. Forward from there is a forward-facing companion seat. Opposite, to starboard is a spacious L-shaped lounge seat, forward facing across the rear, and with an aft-facing lounge feature. Forward and centered is the comfortable-for-the-longhaul swiveling Captain's chair.
The well laid-out helm features an ergonomically pleasing array of gauges, electronics and controls. The wheel tilts for standing or seated comfort, but the seating and bridge height give the kind of visibility that make driving while seated a snap. As a bonus, Tivoli is equipped with a removable front panel windshield with wiper so that the captain can stay warm and dry while underway in any conditions.
Heading forward from the back deck is safe and easy. Passing through the wing door, there are ample grab-rails and a high rail holding you onto the gunnels. There are swinging, latch-able gunnel access doors, port and starboard, for boarding from higher piers. Wrapping around the forward windshield is a semi-opaque cover for privacy and protection from the sun. The bow features two mirror-matching sun lounge cushions and built-in drink holders. Forward of that is the secure ground-tackle working area with windlass foot controls, an access hatch for the chain and rode, and a raw water wash-down with a basin that drains forward beneath the bow. The remote spotlight is mounted front and center, but on the intermediate bowrail, for its protection and to keep it out of your line of sight.
EnginesTivoli is powered by twin Cummins 5.9B 370 hp straight drive inboard engines, mated with ZF transmissions. She has dripless shaft seals and an optional oil change system which serves the generator as well. The engineroom is clean, dry and virtually spotless. The heat exchangers and aftercoolers have recently been serviced, though they only have 475 hours on them. All maintenance has been professionally done.
