Island Packet 370
The Island Packet 370 represented the combined talents of the engineering, design, sales, and marketing staffs at Island Packet, coupled with the constructive and enlightened feedback of enthusiastic owners and dealers. Marking a notable evolution in the Island Packet family, the IP 370 offered refined keel shapes and a higher aspect ratio rig for increased performance, new rudder shaft and blade geometry for enhanced control under sail and power, and a watertight anchor locker bulkhead for added security. The accommodations also shine, with the ever-popular island berth installed both fore and aft and a separate shower stall in the head. Of particular importance, the new generation IP 370 was constructed with durable fiberglass water and waste tanks, not aluminum. Chain plates were upgraded to 316 stainless steel and manufactured by Garhauer.
Deck and Hull   The Island Packets are built with a one piece, hand laminated, solid fiberglass hull and keel with the exclusive patented Full Foil Keel which protects the propeller and rudder. IP's patented Polyclad 2 bottom gelcoat system allowed the factory to offer a ten-year warranty against osmotic blistering of the hull and their Polycore deck coring material allowed them to offer a ten-year warranty against rot and delamination in the deck. The cockpit seats are seven feet long which lets you bring a crowd for day sails or comfortable sleeping in the cockpit. Sail handling is controlled from the cockpit. The side decks are wide which makes going forward easy. Moon Eyeâs wide anchor platform has two anchor rollers with an oversized 25 kg Rocna anchor with 210 feet of 5/16ths chain mounted to starboard as the primary. A Danforth anchor with 200 feet of braided line and 25 feet of chain is mounted to port. A Muir Storm 1200 watt electric windlass (new 2018) with foot switch controls raise and lower the anchors. A salt water wash down pump (new 2023) and spray head complete the ground tackle system. A second windlass control is mounted at the helm for single handed anchor management. The IP 370s integral swim platform and teak covered steps were a welcome addition to the IP line. They make for easy and safe dinghy landing and boarding at the aft end. There is also a swim ladder and a hot and cold shower on the transom.

Accommodations   Below decks the Island Packet 370 offers first quality craftsmanship and materials. With a beautiful teak interior, Corian countertops, Ultra-leather upholstery, solid bevel-planked teak and oak flooring, polished stainless-steel handgrips and lights, and integral overhead screens and shades the quality is obvious. Stowage throughout the yacht is exceptional, with 300 cubic feet of enclosed space available. Eleven stainless steel ports, six deck hatches, and three dorade vents provide the entire interior with abundant light and ventilation. Moon Eyeâs lighting has been upgraded to LEDs and an attractive marine grade swinging coach lamp (also LED) is mounted in the main salon to port. A factory installed Birds Eye maple dining table in Moon Eyeâs main salon is an option not often seen on Island Packets.
Forward Stateroom:
The forward stateroom features a large island berth with easy entry from either side. The foot end of the berth easily raises on gas struts and provides access to a large deep stowage area for bulky items and a second level for quick access to everyday items . Additional storage is found in the cedar lined hanging lockers, bureaus, deep drawers, and wide shelves. A custom Portland Mattress topper was added by Moon Eyeâs owners in 2022.
Head:
The head is forward of the main salon. Doors from both the forward stateroom and the main salon provide both easy access and privacy for owners and guests. There is a separate stall shower with folding acrylic doors and an electric sump drain. Ample cabinetry storage is provided by the built-in vanity. Moon Eyeâs sanitary hoses and macerator were replaced in 2022.
Main Salon:
The Birds Eye maple dining table opens to provide a larger dining area for 6 or more. It doubles as a large work table and then folds and stows against a bulkhead rack, opening the area for socializing. Full length port and starboard seating areas are both comfortable and practical, and the port settee conveniently converts to a double berth. Massive storage is available under and outboard of the settees. A tall cedar lined hanging locker is located to starboard. A 24â tv is swing mounted on a custom teak panel on the starboard side. It is 12 volt powered and connected to a masthead tv antenna. A Fusion UD 650 stereo with Bluetooth controls and Bose speakers are included.
Aft Stateroom and Navigation Area:
The aft cabin is configured for great sleeping accommodations and also serves as a multi-use area. The desk in the aft stateroom can be used as a vanity, a navigation station, or workstation. The navigation tabletop lifts to reveal a storage tray and a vanity mirror mounted on its underside. A removable hinged teak panel in the forward bulkhead opens and joins this area with the main salon when desired. The aft berth also has an easy lift section to access a large additional storage area as in the forward stateroom. Both state rooms have island style berths offering great accommodations and privacy doors for owners and guests.
