In 1997-98 alone there are nearly 100 new J/105 owners and enthusiasm is building. An active owner's association and owner maintained web site helps you get the most from your boat. There are now local one-design starts across the country and in Europe with active fleets on the West Coast, Lake Michigan, Lake Ontario, The Solent, Chesapeake Bay, Charleston, Texas, Long Island Sound, Newport and Marblehead. Single handed sailors have raced and cruised to Bermuda; an older couple is enjoying cruising in Maine and winning the Monhegan Race after giving up their Alden 54; and America's Cup helmsman race for prize money around the country in a professional match racing circuit.
