Vessel Walkthrough
INTRODUCTORY COMMENTS: "MUSIC" shows much newer than her age would dictate - beautifully appointed luxury performance cruising Shannon 43 launched in 1998. In the fall of that year, she was sailed and displayed in the International Sailboat Show. Shannon Boat Company, Bristol, RI, founded in 1975, is well-known for quality-built, strong, comfortable, ocean cruising yachts. "MUSIC" is a superb example that is truly the finest 43' ever offered sale. She has a highly custom arrangement plan with magnificent cherry and white interior.
Like her sisterships, "MUSIC" offers the benefits of under 5' draft (with the centerboard raised), modern performance cruising hull and keel shape that is sea-kindly and tracks well and performs in a wide range of conditions. A full skeg protects the rudder and propeller. Most important she is easily sailed by a couple. The cutter sail plan was designed to provide a Yankee on the headstay at the forward end of the bow pulpit and a staysail on the inner forestay. The benefits are better balance in heavy air and superior all-around performance.
When "MUSIC" was built, the owner specified a very open main living area that would include the salon, galley and navigation center. To achieve this goal the midship guest head was moved aft and replaced by the navigation center. The final result is a much more spacious feeling in these areas, which appear larger with improved light and ventilation.
INTERIOR ARRANGEMENT: The forward master cabin has a generous double berth. Storage includes large hanging locker to port, seven drawers, 5 lockers and 2 bookshelves and magazine rack. The hanging locker which doubles as a privacy door to the forward cabin has a full-length mirror on the forward side. The overhead hatch, 2 opening ports and 1 Hella fan provide ventilation. There are separate AC controls, headphone jack for stereo system and carbon monoxide detector/alarm.
The primary head and shower (with curtain) aft of the owner's cabin, is finished in white Corian with teak trim. This head has 3 drawers, 3 lockers, one opening port, large mirror, and 3 towel racks. There is a removable shower grate for ease of cleaning. The head is covered with a seat, which keeps it dry while showering. Lighting includes 2 overhead lights, 1 vanity light and 1 night light. 1 Hela fan and opening port provide ventilation. (New electric head in 2000)
"MUSIC's" main salon is amidships with a straight settee to port and L-shaped settee to starboard with blue Ultra Leather Tufted cushions. The dining table is mounted on the forward bulkhead and can be folded up to create an open living space. The built-in entertainment center features a new 20" Sharp flat screen TV with DVD player and Direct TV module.A reduntant VHF is also located here. There are built-in cabinets and bookshelves outboard of the settees, storage compartments outboard of the seatbacks and under the settees.
Aft of the main salon to starboard, is the U-shaped galley with double stainless steel sinks, 4-burner stove, and refrigerator and freezer. Opposite to port is the navigation station with built-in electronics and Ultra Leather nav seat.
Aft there are two guest cabins. The port, primary guest cabin has a generous double berth, 2 hanging lockers, 1 regular locker, 5 drawers, 1 bookshelf and bulkhead mounted, fold-down table. Two opening ports, fan and overhead hatch provide ventilation. Custom cherry pantry cabinet above folding table in aft cabin.
On the other side of the companionway is an additional cabin with a head and single berth for a crew member or extra guest. This cabin provides access to the generator compartment and has 1 locker for storage, 1 opening port and 1 deck hatch, fan, reading lamp and carbon monoxide detector/alarm. A portable workbench, which stows against the bulkhead when not in use, can be mounted in this cabin or in the cockpit.
Other interior features are varnished teak cabin sole with contrasting inlay; seven interior courtesy lights, extra 12-volt and 110-volt outlets throughout the yacht; 4 reading lamps; 5 overhead lights and 3 night lights. Weams and Plath clock and barometer. Overhead grab rails in headliner.

There are safety straps for rough weather; separate thermostat for the refrigeration and freezer systems; hand pump to pump out the refrigerator boxes and teak spice rack.
