Accommodations
The Island Packet 37 has a very functional sea-going interior. There is a v-berth forward with a filler piece to make a large double berth. Also in the forward cabin is a large hanging locker and lots of storage. There is a door to the head compartment from the v-berth. Next aft to port is a huge head compartment featuring a marine head, stainless steel sink and vanity with storage below, a separate shower area with seat, mirror, and hot and cold pressurized water. The head is accesable from the main cabin by a door as well as the v-berth. Next aft is the main salon featuring settees port and starboard. The port settee converts to a large double berth. Storage in the main salon is provided by compartment below and behind the settees and a large hanging locker to starboard. The dining table stores on the bulkhead with the ability to fold-out and dine from either settee. The famous Island Packet wine rack receives the table in its stowed position. The nav table and electrical area are aft of the port settee. The large, functional, U-shaped galley is most aft to starboard featuring double stainless steel sinks with pressurized hot and cold water, dry food storage in countertop and outboard lockers, lots of storage below the sink. The spacious aft cabin is aft to port with a hanging locker and bureau and a large double berth. A teak and holly cabin sole runs throughout the interior excepting the head and galley area which feature diamond pattern non-skid fiberglass floors.
Galley
The large, functional, U-shaped galley is most aft to starboard featuring double stainless steel sinks with pressurized hot and cold water, dry food storage in countertop and outboard lockers, lots of storage below the sink. There is a three burner propane stove with oven. There is a large icebox with double top-loading doors.
Electronics
Autohelm ST5000 below decks autopilot with cockpit controls. Autohelm ST50 depth, wind and knot/log meter mounted on the starboard cockpit bulkhead. ST50 Navdata repeater at the helm, Raytheon RL70 Radar at the nav table, President VHF radio, Garmin 120XL GPS, Sony stereo with two Bose speakers in the cabin and two Pioneer speakers in the cockpit.
Electrical
12 volt DC system with alternator charging. Battery selector switch. 110 volt AC system with battery charger, AC outlets throughout the boat with GFI breakers, shorepower cord. Complete AC and DC breakers at the electrical panel located in the nav area.
Sails
Mainsail with cover, genoa, staysail. Roller furling for the genoa and staysail. UV covers on the foresails.
Deck
Beige deck with diamond pattern non-skid surface. Lots of teak on deck. Large, functional offshore cockpit with fast-points fro attachment. Direct drive wheel steering with fiberglass pedistal and table. Stainless steel wheel. Double lifelines with stainless steel stancheons. Double rail stainless steel bow and stern rails. Stern rail has an intregal stern ladder. Dorade boxes with bells. Solid fiberglass hull with tri-axial woven roving. Island Packet uses the Polycore method of deck coring providing strength and light weight while being impervious to rot. Full keel provides stability and direction to the hull. Custom stainless steel opening ports with safety glass, lots of overhead hatches provide great ventilation as well.
Additional
"Smell the Roses" is a well equipped and well maintained example of this fine quality world cruiser. She is at home in the middle of the Atlantic as well as on a daysail around Narraganset Bay. "Smell the Roses was a fresh water boat for the first five years of her life and has recently been moved to the Rhode Island coast. She is seriously for sale due to a change in her owners' business plans. More pictures to follow shortly.
