ACCOMMODATIONS AND LAYOUT:   Spacious accommodations include a private V-Berth cabin forward with separate head and shower, hanging locker and changing seat. The main salon offers a large dinette to starboard with wrap around seating and the dining table converts to make a large double berth. Additionally, there is a single settee to port, storage cabinets along hull sides, an outboard facing nav station with seat, a large U-shaped galley and an aft head with access from salon and aft cabin.  Spacious aft stateroom with queen sized bed, his and hers changing seats, hanging lockers, storage compartments and mirrored vanity. Although the nine hatches and seven opening ports provide ample ventilation, the dual unit air conditioning system with reverse cycle heat (25,000 btu) will keep you and your crew comfortable. The varnished teak interior coupled with the teak and holly cabin sole add a natural warmth to the classic Catalina styling.

 

GALLEY:   The galley is equipped for serious cooking without compromise. From snacks to gourmet meals, this galley is ready to serve. Features include a spacious refrigerator and a separate freezer, gimbaled propane stove with oven, double stainless steel sinks with hot/cold pressure water, built-in microwave oven, good lighting, great ventilation and lots upon lots of storage.

 

HEAD(S) & Showers:   Both forward and aft heads are Sealand VacuFlush models. The heads are well ventilated and fully appointed with hot/cold pressure water and mirrored vanities. Molded one-piece fiberglass construction insures easy maintenance.

 

ELECTRONICS AND NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT:   “New Moon” is equipped with an Apelco VHF radio, Cetrek autopilot, wind, depth and speed instruments integrated/repeated to autopilot and Garmin 2006C color chartplotter screens. Garmin 2006C chartplotter has software covering South Carolina to the Bahamas and Exhumas.

 

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:   There are two 30 amp, 120V circuits (one for the A/C) with shore power cords. The 12V system includes four new batteries including the new AGM 4-D house bank. These are maintained by a 50 amp battery charger.

 

SAILS & RIGGING:  The sail inventory on “New Moon” includes a 155% roller furling genoa plus a full-batten mainsail with Dutchman flaking system and batten cars.

 

MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT & ENGINE DETAILS:   The engine, a Westerbeke 42hp diesel, was professionally re-built in 2004.

 

SAFETY EQUIPMENT:   Safety equipment includes two anchors and rodes with an electric windlass plus the required USCG safety equipment.

 

CANVAS AND OTHER EXTRAS:    Cockpit comfort is enhanced by the custom dodger and bimini with connector panel and ¾ side curtains. There is over six feet of standing headroom under the bimini!  Cockpit fun is enhanced by the walk-through transom and the molded-in swim platform. The sound system includes ten disc CD player/cassette/stereo with eight speakers throughout the interior and cockpit.
