My wife and I are happy to tell about or design decisions for Sanitys interior Salon and Galley area. Im and Architect and my wife is an Interior Designer and both of us wanted to open the space up and get more use of every square inch.
Salon Area:
When we bought Sanity, she needed to be updated on the interior. The previous floor plan was very tight and a lot of wasted space. We removed cabinets and a built-in sofa in the Salon and gained 1ââ?¬â?¢-0 of interior space on the port and starboard side. Which is huge when you are talking about valuable inches in a boat. We removed built in valances over the windows which opened up the windows to let the natural light in. We relocated the AC system to give more room on the Starboard side. We replaced the built-in couch and cabinets with a sectional sofa on the Starboard side and a full size couch on the Port side. This allows more seating, conversational and entertaining area. The sofas are not ââ?¬Å?marineââ?¬ï¿½ grade but the fabric is no different than any ââ?¬Å?marineââ?¬ï¿½ built in sofa. This allows the removal of cushions to be washed at any time. The couches are bolted to the floor to keep from moving during sea cruises.
Galley Area:
This area was very tight with all of the built-in bench seating, stationary table and helm seating. The location of the actual galley area did not flow well with the Salon and Dinning area. We removed all of the galley built-ins, appliances, seating and tables and replaced with commercial grade cabinet / drawers. Drawers are not a boats best friend when at sea but they are the best use of storage instead of a cabinets and all of them have locks for use while at sea. A new LG commercial double oven with electric burner replaced the old oven. The existing refrigerator was fairly new and was not needing to be replaced. We provided a huge island in the middle to facilitate serving for parties and just gathering around while talking and munching on snacks. In the island across from the stove is a single, deep stainless steel sink with commercial spray faucet. The bar side of the island seats 4 in full back bar stools. The electrical panel is conveniently located just behind the bar stools for easy access and a bar stool can also be used at the helm while piloting from the inside from inclement weather.
The flooring for both areas was carpet and we decided to rip up the carpet and put down a water resistant engineered plank flooring. This floor is called a floating floor because it is not applied or attached to the floor. This allows for easy replacement for a floor section if needed. This is superb for being on the water and people waking in and out with damp or wet feet. Carpet soaks this water up and has more of a tendency for mold and mildew. The water resistance of the floor keeps the water on the surface to be able to easily wipe or mop up.
The entire salon and galley area has new head and wall liner with new LED lighting.
So essentially the whole area was completely gutted and redone with a more fresh, bright and better open floor plan.
Not only are you buying a great yacht but a perfect charter business opportunity in the most sought after destination spot in Turks and Caicos. Voted number one ââ?¬Å?Best Beaches in the Worldââ?¬ï¿½ two years in a row, Grace Bay Beach. Tourist numbers are doubling every year. This is a great time to have a 72ââ?¬â?¢ Motor yacht with full Salon, Galley, 4 State Rooms and 4 Heads for sunset, weekend and full week charters. It doesnââ?¬â?¢t get any better than this. The Yacht is already here and waiting to be taken out on charter and earn some income. Being centrally located in the Caribbean, the destinations are endless with its range.
