Hull and DeckThe Baltic 40 hull construction reflects the belief that the lighter a yacht is, the more ballast it can carry for a given displacement, which makes it safer, better to handle and gives it a longer lasting value. The hull is FRP sandwich construction using specially designed, unidirectional rovings and high-grade epoxy resins, which reduce the hull weight by some 40 to 60 per cent when compared to traditional polyester laminates. The result is a hull which is lightweight, extremely rigid and well-insulated. It is stronger and has a longer durability. An additional option which adds considerable strength, beauty and value to the Baltic 40 is the hand-laid and epoxy-cemented teak deck.
