AccommodationsThe Catalina 36 is known for its generous proportions providing an abundance of space and cruising comfort below as well as ample space for six or more in the roomy cockpit.
Oiled teak interior with varnished teak and holly sole (the sole was replaced in '07); four hatches, two opening ports and six fixed ports and two dorades provide plenty of natural light and ventilation. Reading lamps at each berth and settee plus additional dome lamps provide good artificial light.
Starting forward is the fwd cabin with generous V-berth and filler, below which there is generous storage in drawers and drop face lockers forward of which there is additional storage in bins. Above the berth is a storage shelf and aft of the starboard V-berth is a large hanging locker.
Next aft to port is the enclosed head with a manual W.C., vanity with stainless sink with H&C pressure water, separate shower space with seat. (The head and all associated hoses were replaced in '06.)
Opposite the head is a four drawer bureau with a locker with shelves behind. Continuing aft is the Main Salon featuring a large U shaped dinette to port and small dinette with fore and aft facing seats to starboard; the U-shaped settee converts to a double and the starboard dinette converts to a single. There is bin type stowage below the berths and stowage behind seat backs as well as in lockers and shelves over the settees.
Aft of the starboard settees is the fwd facing sit down navigation station with flip top chart table with three storage drawers below. The electrical distribution panels are located here. Further aft is the aft cabin with large double berth and hanging locker as well as bin storage under the stbd bench seat and on shelves. Opposite the nav station is the U-shaped galley with updated gimballed propane stove 97', double basin sink with recent H&C pressure plumbing fixtures and manual FW foot pump '06, generous storage and counter space and Adler Barber refrigeration in a large "ice box".- Panasonic AM/FM/CD stereo '08

Additional
Well cared for, ALUNA represents a good value and shows well. She was in fresh water until 2000 and was only lightly used through '04. She is only on the market as her owner now wishes to do voyaging further afield and hence prefers a larger vessel.
Compare ALUNA to any other Catalina 36 and you will begin to understand why she represents a notable value at her asking price as a tremendous amount has gone into her over the past few years. Upgrades commencing in '02 under her prior ownership and continuing through the current owner who purchased her in '04 include the following: Bottom stripped, exterior teak stripped and refinished, all new blocks, mainsheet traveller etc., new running rigging, new masthead sheaves, all new electronics, new sails, new fuel system, new bilge pump, new manual water pump, new canvas, new stereo and speakers, high output alternator, new salt water wash down system, and much much more. Again, please compare, while you may find a better price you simply will not find a better value!
