Accommodations
Overall, interior is in good to excellent condition for ‘85 boat. All seat cushions and fabric storage is in excellent condition. All fabric ‘furniture’ on board including fabric ‘wall’ to separate forward vee berth. Wood work is generally good but does have some water stains from freshwater (rain) leaks. Any delamination has been epoxied, stains are cosmetic. All plywood cushion bottoms have been epoxy coated and new zippers added to cushions.

Stove, sinks, power water, head all in good working order. One 12VDC fan.

Laminated Main: UK tape drive polyester with carbon tape. Single deep reef, loose foot. Excellent condition, w/sausage bag.

Dacron Main: North racing main with slides added for cruising. (can be removed) Double reefs, loose foot. Good to excellent condition, w/sailcover

Light No. 1: UK ‘wedge’ mylar laminate. Semi triradial design, 155% serviceable condition, w/launch bag

Heavy No. 1: UK tape drive mylar Kevlar laminate, 155%, good condition, w/ launch bag

Maxi jib: Doyle TRT polyester laminate full hoist convex luff 108%, full top batten, two other battens, new, w/launch bag

No. 2 jib: North Dacron, good condition, sausage bag

Working jib: North 100% Dacron, good condition, w/sausage bag

¾ oz triradial spinnaker, new, companionway launch bag

¾ oz triradial spinnaker, good condition, turtle bag

Hull & Deck
Hull and topsides were Awlgripped when present owner bought the boat in ‘99. Boat is drysailed (as it was by previous owner) and bottom is white Awlgrip, no anti-fouling, very smooth and fast.

Decks were not done and need new anti skid. Mast was painted in ‘99, boom was not. Cabin windows are oversize, installed in ’96 by previous owner.

Single line reefing from cockpit (two reefs) added for cruising

Transverse tracks, infinitely adjustable jib system added

Previous owner was a Laser 28 freak, raced it extensively and kept it up well. He raced with his three children as crew, one of which was on the Young America America’s Cup team in New Zealand. He upgraded the diesel cooling, maintained it well (many spares come with the boat) and passed along multiple advertising brochures, ‘Twing Lines’ class newsletter, articles about the 28, North tuning guide, polar charts, performance projections, full shop manual on the engine, spare Gori prop, and manuals for all instruments and most other equipment as well as the original Laser owners guide. He modified the genoa control system so it is infinitely adjustable. There are even new Laser 28 teeshirts with the boat.
