From the original brochure:  In looking at the Ericson 27, you have to appreciate the handsome lines, the nice contours that blend into an esthetic work of art.  She's not too high out of the water, not too fat in the beam, not too broad in the stern. She's a beautifully proportioned 27-footer, and she's nice to rest your eyes on.  With standing headroom (6'1"), a more than ample 19hp Universal diesel (new in the 90's), a galley with a two burner alcohol stove, interior port and starboard seating, sleeping berths for five persons.  On top of all that she sails well.  Her decks are wide for surefooted deck work, and her cockpit gives every member of a racing crew ample seating without crowding the helmsman. The Ericson/27's underbody is a superb result of Ericson's design-test program, where naval architect, Bruce King, carried out at the famous Stevens Institute facility.

With her furled foresail and lazyjacks for the mainsail, she is easily put to bed after a nice day or evening on the water.

Loads of storage space and a more than adequate galley make her a nice little pocket cruiser for doing the coast.

Amethyst is truly an oldy but goody.  She's ready to provide safe and fun times for her new owner(s).
