Accommodations
Forward cabin provides access to chain locker in the bow. Next is V-berth with cubby hole cabinets on each side and storage under the bunk; hull in V-berth is lined with cedar strips; closing cabin door behveen salon and V-berth. There are two hanging lockers to starboard, one aft of the other. An enclosed head is located opposite to port with a beautiful hand-painted Mexican ceramic sink with both pressure and manual water spigots, several storage cabinets and an overhead opening hatch. Main salon has a portside settee which pulls out to make a double berth; there are shelves and cabinets behind the settee. The starboard settee converts to bunk beds with lee cloths. A centerline folding table is built around the keel-stepped mast; above the table is a large opening plexiglass overhead hatch and a brass trawler lamp. Overhead handrails throughout the boat allow for safe movement at sea. Aft to port is a quarterberth, also with a lee cloth, several storage cabinets, a shelf behind and an aft-facing chart table with large chart drawer and additional cabinet. Engine access under companionway ladder.

Sails & RiggingImprovements include: new S/S maststep installed '92; Profurl roller furling '97; headstay, backstay and lowers replaced '93: most running rigging replaced '95-'00 including jib halyard (1994), spinnaker halyard (1997), main halyard (2000); rebuilt hydraulic backstay '97.
Sail inventory includes: newer but used main and jib, second old racing main, hank-on drifter, (2) old hank-on genoas, storm jib (like new), removeable roller furling staysail and tall boy.
She can be sailed as either a cutter or sloop rig with a removable jack stay. She currently sails as a sloop with a genoa on roller furling, but has the halyard, running back stays, and all the deck hardware to run two headsails. Note the staysail and storm sail are cut to fly as an inner headsail. The mast is aluminum with double spreaders and internal rigging.

MechanicalThe boat was repowered in 1995 with a 3-cylinder 40hp Isuzu (Pisces) with an estimated 200 hours of running time since installation; custom 50-gallon S/S fuel tank and Racor fuel filter system; complete exhaust system (fiberglass aqualift style); Martec folding prop; cutlass bearing and S/S strut that holds shaft in place.

AdditonalThis boat has a long race history and has been completely refitted and converted into a performance cruising boat. The sellers' plans to sail to Mexico were changed by a new baby. Their gain is your gain.
INTERIOR - 1995 Converted to propane stove in galley, propane is on a solenoid switch; 1997 Replaced all DC electrical wiring with tinned marine grade wire; 1998 Replaced all lighting with stainless dome lights; 1998 Cedar planking added to V-berth walls; 2000 New upholstery and carpet; 2000 New headliner (fiberglass and mahogany trim) with teak grab rails and teak chart racks attached.
VENTILATION - Two large hatches that open forward or aft for light and ventilation. The forward hatch opens directly over the V-berth; the midship hatch directly over a dining area which is large enough for six adults. Hanging below the midship hatch is a brass oil lamp.
The following improvements have been made: 1998 New teak forward hatch with 1/2" smoked plexiglass; 1998 Midship hatch rebuilt with 1/2" smoked plexiglass; 1999 Hinges on both hatches replace to allow each to hinge for and aft with quick release pins; 1998 Side windows rebedded and replaced with smoked 1/2" plexiglass; 1998 9" x 9" Plexiglass hatch in aluminum frame installed in head.
PLUMBING - Pressurized water system for both galley and head, two deep S/S sinks in the galley facing the dining area. All hoses, fresh water, head and deck drains have been replaced and the following improvements made: 1996 New marine head, 10-gallon holding tank, and deck clean out. 1999 Hand painted Mexican sink installed in the head and with a new marine grade faucet; 1999 Foot pumps to augment pressurized water in galley and head.
ANCHORING AND GROUND TACKLE - The following improvements have been made: 1995 Manual Simpson Lawrence anchor windless installed with anchor pipe to chain locker; 1995 Custom stainless anchor roller installed with 35# CQR. 125 feet of chain and 300 feet of rode; 2000 Chain pipe for stern anchor set in new cockpit enclosure.
Existing through-hulls are brass ball valves.
Last bottom paint July 2000.
She's an excellent retired race boat set up now as a comfortable cruiser. With new paint outside and refurbished wood and new upholstery inside, she shows beautifully.
