The O'Day35 is praised for its reliable performance and strong power, with owners noting its ability to cruise comfortably at 7-8 mph under motor. The one Beta 25 engine supports responsive performance, enhancing its appeal for both day cruising and overnight trips. Confident handling is a consistent highlight in owner feedback, making it a favorite among sailors seeking a stable and manageable vessel. The spacious interior offers ample room for comfortable living aboard, accommodating extended stays with ease. Additionally, the solid construction and durable materials contribute to its longevity and enduring value.
1988 O'Day 35, a 35 foot fully upgraded cruising sailboat with fin keel and spade rudder for good sailing speed and performance. Interior is warm and comfortable, with teak and hardwood trim that has been well maintained, along with beautifully made high grade Sunbrella cushions in excellent shape (they don't stain). The boat is able to sleep 2, 3, or 4.

- Head is good sized, with major new sanitation system installed in 2022, with a Jabsco manual toilet, new holding tank, new marine macerator and pump, and all new plumbing.
- New Dodger with excellent visibility and clarity made by Hallett Sails, installed in 2022; new Bimini made by Hallett Sails installed in 2018. As a result, Zephyr is a dry boat with very limited splash into the cockpit, and the bimini provides excellent sun shading in the cockpit.

- Two heavy duty marine batteries _(getting info)___installed in 2019 are working well.
- LED lighting that significantly reduces battery drain at night has been installed throughout boat, in 2020 and 2022, including an LED masthead light.

- Long whisker pole for wing-on-wing downwind sailing.
- Mahogany dorade boxes with cowl vents installed in 2025.
- Bow and stern anchors that hold well.
- AC power, 30 amp 120 volt inlet for shore power.
- Winter cover made by Hallett Sails in 2016 that works well, with good overhead for work on the boat in early spring (gets warms inside on sunny days), with support structure and two large panels that zip on, with a zippered door and window. Saves a substantial amount of money every winter by avoiding shrink wrapping.
The Boat sails very well, often in the 6.5-8 mph range in a reasonable wind, and generally motors around 7-8 mph. For the money, you won't find a better boat that's ready for cruising now, with all major systems upgraded.
