1995 Morris Frances Boat in Cataumet, MA 02534 US
Frances
1 Engine (Volvo Penta)
26 feet
Diesel
Fiberglass/Reinforced
Built by Tom Morris of Morris Yachts for his own personal use and designed by the legendary Chuck Paine, this unique beauty is a quintessential double-ended, full keel pocket cruiser. Originally conceived as a visual homage to the rugged double-enders of the North Sea, the Frances 26 combines robust blue-water capability with the timeless elegance of classic New England craftsmanship.
For sailors who appreciate traditional lines, predictable handling, and impeccable build quality, this 26-foot cruiser punches far above its weight class. The Frances 26' delivers a soft, comfortable motion. She lacks the snappy, jerky motion of modern light-displacement production boats, making long hours at the helm quite forgiving.
IF is well equipped and outfitted for extensive cruising and single-handed sailing. She features a simple, open interior layout that is fully capable of crossing oceans, making passages to Bermuda and the length of Lake Michigan. She was finished in 1996 in ME, and sailed mostly in RI Sound until 2003. She was then purchased and trailered to Chicago, IL in 2004, and for twenty years she was fresh water sailed on Lake Michigan, June -October. Each winter she was stored inside. Her current owner had her for one year and realized she's too small, will visit family aboard and cruise on bigger boats. She is currently back in New England in Cataumut, MA, wrapped and on the hard. She will not be launched this season as seller's have decided to travel abroad this summer. We will be pleased to get you aboard!
