Striker Yachts was founded by Herb Phillips in 1951. Initially, construction facilities were located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where they built highly specialized sport fishing boats and a small number of classic motor yachts out of steel.

In 1960 Striker took a revolutionary step with their building process and began building their boats with welded marine aluminum alloy. Over the years, Striker made good use of their builder's expertise and top notch construction facilities to produce rugged, sea-friendly, top performing sport fishing boats that would meet the demands of even the most discriminating fisherman. Production facilities were eventually established in Holland, Norway and Italy.
