Powerquest Boats: During the summer of 1978 Todd Kamps and Kevin Hirdes became acquainted through a mutual love of water skiing. This friendship would eventually lead to the founding of Powerquest Boats. At one point, Todd was working for a marine yacht manufacturer in Grand Haven, Michigan. He spent his spare time designing, building and testing an 18' fiberglass sport boat. Once his friend Kevin heard about the project he offered to lend a hand with the finishing touches.

The two spent countless hours testing the boat to see how well it would perform under a wide variety of conditions. Soon the discussion turned from the hobby boat to forming their own boat building business. They envisioned a company that would produce high performance sport boats.

From day one, August 16, 1983, Todd and Kevin held focus on what it would take to be successful in their niche. They would never compromise on quality, use only the best raw materials available, build each boat as if it was thier own and surround themselves with quality people who shared their vision.

Powerquest has made continuous improvements to every facet of the process with the use of the latest high-tech materials and manufacturing. Their product line has grown and evolved each year with new and improved models. From their proven stepped hulls to their ergonomically configured helms, Powerquest is constantly pursuing innovative ideas, designs and products. "Good" would never cut it for them, they build each boat by hand, one by one, to give the customer the high level of performance they demand and deserve.

They invested thousands of man hours on research, development and testing to develop the best handling boats on the water today.
