ETAP Yachts are certified unsinkable by the Marine Marchande Francais (French Merchant Marine) the only official body in the world authorized to issue certification of unsinkability. ETAP Yachts are the only ocean going recreational sailing yachts with this certification in the world. ETAP has long believed in safety first. Long popular in Europe for over 30 years, the entire line of these innovative, unique, unsinkable sailing yachts are now available in the US & Canada.

The production of cabin cruisers began in 1970 with the ETAP 22. From the very beginning of production efforts the company opted for technological innovation: unsinkability, sandwich construction, polyester laminate and aluminium deck fittings to name a few. These innovations increased the number of technical problems but they also proved to be of great importance for ETAP's later commercial success. Interest in this type of yacht has grown considerably due to the participation in a number of international boat shows.

Production of the ETAP 28 was started in 1977. The ETAP 20 followed a few years later in 1980. Eventually more space for production became necessary and in 1980 the buildings in the Steenovenstraat were put into use and later expanded even further.

Now, ETAP Yachting produces 7 different yacht types and more than 1 ship leaves the ETAP shipyard every day. Throughout the years, ETAP has made certain that the same basic principles, safety, quality, innovation and recreation pleasure are still valid.
