New and Used Feadship Yachts for sale

Feadship Yachts Dealer List

Feadship Yachts, some history:

Feadship, founded in 1949, is acknowledged as a global leader in the construction of premium quality displacement motoryachts. Feadship is actually the marketing name of two independent Dutch shipyards. These yards being the De Vries yard and the Van Lent yard. A brief history of the entities involved in producing Feadship Yachts follows.

De Vries Scheepsbouw was founded in 1923 and is situated in the center of Aalsmeer. Initially building in wood, the yard rapidly expanded into the construction of steel and aluminum sail and motoryachts. The yard now builds Feadship Yachts. Today their workforce has expanded to 250 highly skilled craftsmen and two motoryachts are built each year. The Shipyard encompasses two dry docks and one slipway with building capacity of up to 80 meters in length.

De Vries Makkum established their yard in 1918. Located on the IJsselmeer lake and it has produced an impressive fleet of Feadship Yachts over several decades. From 1980 forward they started building luxury motoryachts. August 2005 saw the yard become a part of Feadship. It is used for building Feadship Yachts up to 120 meters (394ft) in length, plus refits and maintenance on Feadship Yachts. Their giant 170-meter construction hall allows for simultaneous work on a large yacht in the dry dock and one or two other yachts on the shop floor.

Royal Van Lent Shipyard was founded in 1849 and is situated on Kaag Island. Yacht construction began there 70 years ago when motor and sailing yachts were built out of wood. The yard rapidly expanded into the construction of steel and aluminum. The yard is now solely dedicated to building custom-built motoryachts. Today their workforce has expanded to over 250 highly skilled craftsmen and the yard builds two motoryachts per year. The Shipyard encompasses two dry docks and two slipways with building capacity up to 100 meters in length.

De Voogt Naval Architects was established in 1912 and was one of the original founders of the Feadship Yacht organization. Today 58 permanent staff members and a number of freelance specialists cover every discipline of yacht engineering and yacht design: naval architecture, mechanical engineering and interior design drawing. The close relationship between De Voogt and the yards ensures a fundamental understanding of the construction techniques of the builders as well as the utmost quality in design, engineering and construction.

Some examples of high profile of Feadship Yacht include "Callisto", "Gallant Lady" and "Zazu".
