44' Hinckley Talaria Express Downeast

INTERIOR

The 44' Talaria has wonderful accommodations inside and out. The interior joinery is satin varnished cherry with paneled cherry doors, louvered cherry locker doors, cherry sheathing, teak and tulip sole, and white acoustic overheads. Her interior shows little to no ware. Hinckley yachts are very well finished by master craftsmen, using the best of materials throughout.

Down 3 steps, from the helm deck, into the cabin. The comfortable U-shaped dinette is to port, the large U-shaped galley to starboard.

The large head is next forward to port with marine toilet, vanity, mirror, and opening hatch and port. It seems even larger because it does not double as a shower. The large shower is on the starboard with built-in seat, opening overhead hatch and port.

The Master stateroom is forward with an island queen bed. There is storage forward accessed via double doors into the partitioned chain/rope locker. Additional storage in port and starboard hanging lockers, drawers under the queen bed, and shelves outboard. This stateroom has large opening overhead hatches and opening ports.

Headroom, light, ventilation, and accommodations are all very good throughout the yacht.

PILOTHOUSE

Great visibility from your comfortable Stidd, infinitely adjustable helm chair. Matching Stidd chair to port. There is an L-shaped settee to port with a varnished teak table, and a second settee to starboard. This area is air conditioned for your comfort. The pilothouse has three windshields, each with wipers, and side windows that can slide open. There is a three drop curtain enclosure aft.

The large cockpit is down two steps. The cockpit has aft facing seating on both sides of the companionway. There is a center transom door leading to a large fiberglass swim platform. The cockpit has a canvas storage cover.

THE CHOSEN ONE has a green Awlgrip hull (painted 2015). She is kept at the owners home on a covered lift. Hinckley construction is second to none in the industry. Her hull is DualGuard TM SCRIMP process, with Kevlar/Carbon E-glass composite using vinylester resin. The deck is E-glass. These materials and building techniques provide for superior surface finish, greater resistance to osmosis, high degree of stiffness and stiffness/weight ratios, greater resistance against impact damage, and thermal insulation.
