Manufacturer Provided DescriptionThe Pacific Seacraft 44, the new flagship of the Pacific Seacraft fleet, is designed and built with emphasis on cruising safely and in comfort. Significant design modifications give the 44 uncommon balance in a yacht this size, with a reassuring motion even in heavy conditions. Designed as the ultimate cruising sailboat for the serious cruising sailor, she can accept virtually all cruising accessories currently available, such as fresh water makers, generators and today's modern electronic equipment. Belowdecks is a warm blend of rich handfinished teak and designer fabrics. There is a full gourmet galley good for entertaining, yet functional at sea two private staterooms, and a main salon you can be proud to live in. The Crealock "canoe" stern, admired for its esthetics, offers necessary reserve buoyancy without presenting too much surface to following seas. The stern has more effect on the motion of a yacht than the bow, and in breaking following seas the stern will perform like a bow.
Accommodations
Guest Stateroom
The forward guest stateroom contains an offset Vberth with a
comfortable lounging seat, large mirrored cedar lined hanging locker and 2
lockers and 8 drawers for a fantastic amount of storage. Deep bin lockers
also provide huge amounts of long term storage. A large (19")opening BOWMAR
hatch and 2 opening ports provide ventilation. Brass reading lamps provide
light and a separate thermostat controls reverse cycle heat and air
conditioning to this area.
Guest Head
Starting forward to port is the guest head with pull out shower and stainless steel sink. Lockers and drawers are above and below the counter as well as being outboard of the head for much needed storage. Gray water drains from sink or shower grate into a sump which is then pumped overboard. Access is private to the forward guest cabin.
Main Salon
Next Aft is the spacious main salon. A voluminous U-shaped seating area
is to port with seating for 8 on plush azure blue leather 4" cushions.
Opposite is a 6'4" settee. Storage is behind and under the salon seating. The
entire interior is varnished teak with matte white accents. Overhead a vinyl
zippered headliner backed by 1/4" foam insulation, provides access to deck
fittings and wiring harnesses. Dorade vents provide fresh air, even in foul
weather while 12 volt circulating fans keep the air flowing comfortably
throughout the vessel. The entertainment center in the main salon contains a Television, DVD and a CD Stereo provides
the tunes thru Blaupunkt speakers. Three separate reverse cycle air
conditioning units totalling 26,000 btu provide heating and cooling to the
entire belowdecks area.
Nav Station
Next Aft to Starboard is the Nav station with forward facing chart
table and azure blue leather chair. There's a full set of circuit breakers. Electronics at the Nav Sation include an
AUTOHELM GPS with remote that reaches to the owner's cabin, RAYTHEON MULTI, ICOM 7000 SSB, ICOM VHF, ALDEN WEATHERFAX,
TARGET NAVTECH PRO. The RAYTHEON 40XX is mounted on the galley support post and is easily viewed from the Nav area or the cockpit. The chart table top
opens to a substantial desk storage space.
Galley
The large U-shaped galley on "CIELO BLU" is a gourmet's delight. She
has enough counter preparation area to suit the most finiky seagoing chef. She
contains a 110v refrigeration unit and giant freezing compartment (13 cubic
feet total)(currently operated by owner as a freezer and vegetable crisper) as
well as a microwave oven and 3 burner, gimballed, FORCE 10 propane stove with
oven. Food preparation is simple on her CORIAN countertops with flush lids.
Polished stainless steel double sinks with electric pressure water as well as
manual back and sea water pumps make clean up a cinch. The area has many
drawers and lockers for those items used on a daily basis as well as deep bins
for long term storage.
Master Stateroom
Next Aft is the owner's stateroom containing a comfortably large
(7')double berth with lockers and drawers. Four opening ports provide light
and ventilation while the temperature can be controlled by a separate
thermostat unit. A compass is installed on the bulkhead and the auto pilot
remote is designed to reach this area. "CIELO BLU" is set up to provide
comfort as well as privacy for 2 couples. The aft cabin has a separate head
with shower en suite. Access is from the owner's stateroom or directly from
the main salon.
Hull and DeckThe Pacific Seacraft 44' is the result of a million miles of offshore
cruising by Crealock designed hulls. "CIELO BLU" was a "meeting of the minds"
of an award winning naval architect, a world renowned builder and a
passionate, experienced owner. Her hull is hand laminated biaxial fiberglass,
balsa cored above the waterline to American Bureau of Shipping's offshore rule. Her full skeg mounted rudder is supported by a high strength manganese bronze gudgeon.
Vinylester resin was utilized for high blister resistance. Primary bulkheads
are bonded into hull and deck and then thru bolted in place. The SCHEEL shoal
draft keel is lead. An offshore cruiser providing good balance which
ultimately provides safety for her crew. Built for a life at sea, she incorporates her now famous canoe stern which gives necessary reserve buoyancy without providing excessive stern area to following seas. This is a sailor's vessel! Unobstructed decks provide sure footing in all weather conditions. Her large cockpit is protected by a custom built hard dodger, designed by her owner and fabricated and installed in Spain. This integrated unit provides the helmsman with an unobstructed view while providing shelter to the crew.
The dodger's craftmanship, fit and finish is first rate. After thousands of sea miles, including a solo Atlantic crossing, she's ready for the far corners of the globe. The high backed cockpit coamings, deep well and wide bridge deck make for comfortable, secure seating while under sail or power. The cockpit stereo speakers are JENSEN. There is also a VHF speaker mounted in the cockpit. The long (7'8") cockpit seats with custom cushions, provide room for the tallest crew member to stretch out in comfort. Hot and cold water shower is stored in the cockpit coaming. The wheel steering is a WHITLOCK pedestal with 36" destroyer wheel, 5" binnacle compass, brake, and offset stainless steel pedestal guard. There is a cockpit table with seating for four. Engine controls are protected by a plexiglass cover. 1 1/2" cockpit drains make for a quick bailing cockpit. LEWMAR #56 stc primary winches, LEWMAR #44 stc mainsheet and secondary winches, LEWMAR #40 stc jib and main halyard winches. Seventeen chrome plated bronze opening ports provide fresh air below decks. All cleats, ports, winches and chocks are chrome plated bronze. High (30") stanchions are vertically
bolted to 6" bulwarks which completely encircle the deck. This makes for 36" lifelines for safety. The bulwarks are capped with custom made teak caprails, another example of Pacific Seacraft's great attention to detail. Deck drains are molded in to keep decks dry.
