LEWIS REEF I is a "true passagemaker", converted from Canadian Coast Guard vessel, that was built to both U.S. "ABS" standards and to Canadian "TCC" certification for offshore work.  She has a fiberglass hull with an aluminum wheelhouse, and is well suited for a liveaboard utility or long range trawler.  She is completely independent of shorepower requirements as she has 2 X 16 KW generators, a 400 gpd watermaker, and an efficient Duetz engine with a variable pitch Hundested prop, that efficiently cruises at 9 knots and burning only 8 gph with a generator running..  For docking she has a 100 HP, 17" hydraulic bow thruster to assist in getting to any dock.  Her electronics are excellent, she has three stateroom, and a well equipped galley. She is one solid boat, that handles heavy seas well, due to her built-in "rolling chocks".  Every system on the boat is double redundant, and of commercial quality, including many items added in her 2001 & 2005 refits.
