Accommodations
The Ocean 42 was designed by an experienced blue water sailor. She is set up as a proper SAILING vessel and not set up like a condo. Her almost flawless white ash wood work brightens the interior and gives her a solid feel below. The quality of the wood work is what you would expect from a Hinckley built boat. The hardware is "yacht quality", not the pot metal junk most boats have these days.
As you come down the aft companionway ladder, immediately to your left is the Nav station with a great custom chart storage system. There is a narrow berth outboard on the port side. Immediately forward is the complete electrical panel and to Starboard is the good sized quarter berth with a nice bureau with 5 drawers forward of the berth.
On the port side is a large walkthrough head with a separate shower, nice teak grate floors, an excellent Wilcox Crittenden manual toilet, sink and vanity.
Moving forward to Starboard you will be in the galley. Inboard is the double sink in a nice cabinet with upper cabinets above. Outboard is the excellent Shipmate 3 burner stove with oven and the top loading freezer and front loading refrigeration. The refer space is super insulated and will stay cold a very long time without the system running.
Forward into the salon to port is an excellent storage system installed by the current owners. Formerly a berth, this area was rebuilt into storage with file drawers, computer cabinets, drawers, and storage bins. To Starboard is a nice settee as well as more storage outboard. The dining table is a beautiful white ash without a scratch on it.
The master stateroom/V-Berth is forward. It is a large space with abundant storage below the bunk. There is a nice sized closet to starboard and a nice bureau in the aft port corner.
Forward of the V-Berth is access to the anchor locker.

Brokers CommentsPasse-Partout has been owned by the same very experienced couple for the past 25 years. In that 25 years much of her time has been spent in the southern Caribbean.
This Hank Hinckley built Ocean 42 was built with care and craftsmanship in Maine, by the same people that build Hinckley Yachts. She is in fact derivative of the Hinckley Sou'wester and will sail with those boats any day. The boat is designed for people that actually sail with a proper aft cabin from which to work the boat while making passages. That being said she would make a great boat to just live on as well with her massive amount of storage and well thought out interior spaces.
If you are looking for a proper yacht to sail the world, then look hard at this one. You won't be disappointed.
