Designed by Raymond H. Richard Naval Architect. He was the first architect to design a fiberglass hull that met Lloyd's construction standards. She was conceived with both style and performance.  The boat was described by Richard as being " stiff as a church". The new at the time, radical design of her keel was a 6' deep cruising fin in which the forefoot is a cutaway. The rudder is attached to a skeg. There were up to 100 of these boats commissioned.

This design is a well known and respected one, ideal for Offshore or local cruising and liveaboard. This one has the aft side cabin! She is one of the prettiest boats on the water: her teak interior is warm and inviting with a spacious Galley and Salon, berths for up to 8 including the saloon; a large number of opening ports, hatches and dorade vents provide lots of light and ventilation.

The engine was replaced several years ago with a new four cylinder Yanmar diesel. The most respected sailboat diesel in the world and it runs great, with only 2200 hours on the clock. The auto pilot does not appear to be calibrated with the compass heading and the knotmeter does not appear to operate properly, but may be a fouled impeller.

This Cheoy Lee 41 could use some cosmetic maintenance, to make her appear to be the beauty, that she once was, but from 10 feet away she looks good. The interior has had some leaks in the past, around the ports, but does not appear to be leaking now. That has affected the teak veneer around them, but it could be faired and painted white, to lighten up the interior. She is priced right and is ready for her next owners. Sail her away today!
