Introduction RUBY REDis a classicdesign by Ed Monk and built by McQueen Boat Works of Vancouver, B.C.. Her mahogany interior is accentedwith teak and Brazilian Cherry flooring and is maintained inyacht condition. The salon and galley are both on the main deck level, above the engine room, with all staterooms down, and forward of the salon area. She has teak decks, along with a transom door for easy access to the swim platform. Accommodations The layout accomodations are three staterooms with two heads. The master cabin has an ensuite head, with the other two cabins sharing one head. Hull The hull is an Ed Monk design, and was built in the McQueen Boatyard in 1969. The vessel's hull is framed with 1 3/8" X 2" bent oak frames at 9" on center with sister frames over the aft 2/3 of the vessel. The bottom is of 1 1/8" mahogany planks below the waterline, with the hull sides above the waterline being of 1" cedar planks. The transom is mahogany plank over marine plywood, and her decks are 1/2" plywood over 3 1/2" frames on 12" centers, with teak overlay.
