DESIGNER''S COMMENTS: "This boat is designed for swift, safe and simple offshore and coastal sailing. Evidence of her performance potential was provided by the 1981 Bermuda One/Two Race, where John Carson steered the Freedom 44'' to first place in the single handed leg to Bermuda, and then teamed with Rick Viggiano for another first place on the return race to Newport. In so doing the 44'' averaged over 8 knots and set a new elapsed time record for the course. Best of all is the ease and simplicity of handling. To tack the Freedom Rig all you do is turn the wheel - to run before the wind with all sails drawing, just ease the sheets. There are no flapping genoas, no big winches to grind. Just you and your partner can take the Freedom 44'' around the bay or across the ocean, with speed, comfort and safety. There is no other cruising boat of this size that sails this fast, so easily.BROKER''S COMMENTS: "Dai Sei" is very well known boat in the Caribbean, having been owned since new by her original owners who have successfully raced in almost every regatta in the Caribbean during their long ownership and enjoyed living aboard and cruising her in the Caribbean every winter since the early 80''s. Knowing her intimately as they do, the owners have kept "Dai Sei" looking her best, her abundance of solid teak furnishings are a joy to behold and I am sure that this boat will survey well confirming a boat that has been well maintained. Her interior is spacious, well ventilated, extremely pleasing to the eye, yet packed full of good, useable storage areas, thus lending herself to comfortable live aboard cruising. Her exterior offers an extremely easy cambered deck to move about on, uncluttered due to her lack of standing rigging, and a very large cockpit with comfortable seating and solid teak dining table that comfortably seats four. Those looking for an easy to sail, fast, yet extremely comfortable cruiser, perfect for the tropics, should seriously consider this fine offering.
