-- DESCRIPTION --
Designed by Charles Morgan to be a family cruiser, the West Indies 36, manufactured by the Heritage Yacht Corporation, boasts comfortable interior accommodations and a spacious cockpit for relaxing or entertaining.

While performance is her design keynote, livability, structural integrity and aesthetic appeal have all been important considerations. Proven arrangement plans, generous use of warm traditionally crafted woods, thoroughly engineered rigging and structures, classic lines and traditional styling all combine to assure comfort in the West Indies 36.

She has plenty of sail power with her 700 sq. ft. sail area and plenty of diesel power with a 50 HP Perkins engine to take you anywhere you may want to go. Definitely a blue water capable yacht!

The owners having lived aboard her and cruised for a number of years now, are wanting to move ashore and start a family. Despite being an older boat, Nauti Girl is an affordable boat that has been well looked after. She presents a good opportunity for her next owners.

Accommodations
V berth: Forward in the berth is a door to access the chain locker. The berth is a comfortable 6'6" long, which will satisfy most prospective owners. Warm teak staving and fiddled shelves line both the hullsides. There are two lockers, one with shelves on port and one hanging on starboard. Both have shelves above them and have louvered doors for ventilation. There is an overhead hatch and two opening ports for ventilation and two reading lights for additional lighting. A door from the cabin to the head provides private access when desired, while another louvered door performs double duty, providing privacy for the stateroom and serving as a door to the corridor hanging locker. Aft of that locker on starboard is a stack of dresser drawers with a bureau top on it and a locker above that.

Head: Located on port aft of the forward stateroom, there is access from both the saloon and the forward cabin. There is a manual head, sink and teak shower grate. Storage is behind the head, along the hull sides and beneath the sink. A large mirror is on the bulkhead wall and ventilation is provided by a solar vent and an opening port. The shower drains into the central sump system, which provides for a completely dry bilge in this boat.

Saloon: On starboard there is a straight settee, with storage behind it, and a pilot berth above which has been converted to shelf storage. Across on port is a U-shaped dinette, which can comfortably seat four. This converts to make a large double berth. There is storage beneath and behind it and shelf storage above and outboard. Both this side and behind the straight settee have teak staving along the hullsides.

Galley: Aft of the dinette is the galley. U-shaped, it features a two burner propane stove, 12 volt refrigeration and a centerline oriented sink. Counter space and storage spaces are generous and the forward facing orientation keeps you involved in the conversation while you work.

Nav station and quarterberth area: The nav station is forward facing and located on starboard at the base of the companionway. The workspace is good and there is plenty of space for chart books; a mounted stool provides a good seat while you are there. The quarterberth cushions on Nauti Girl have been removed and teak and holly sole installed. Several levels of shelving have been installed, but can fold up if desired to return the space to berthing status. This has added a lot of useful storage to a space that usually just gets filled up and never utilized.

The entire interior is white with teak accents, lending a very traditional feel to the space. The cabin's teak and holly sole was replaced in 2006.
