| Pearsons were built to last, and have proven to be exceptional durable and capable vessels. This boat has made offshore passages, including its trip from NY to Charleston. The owner has rigged it to make it simple for shorthanded sailing, and has equipped her accordingly. He has gone to great lengths to ensure that the boat is solid and in a seaworthy condition. |
| Accommodations |
A very traditionally laid out boat, the spacious V berth forward offers ample accommodation for a couple. There is a hanging locker to starboard, as well as a locker and drawer to port. There are four drawers under the V berth, as well as additional lockers and storage just outside the cabin in the salon area. There is a sliding door to give the cabin privacy. The head and shower are just aft, to port, offering convenience to the cruising couple. There is stowage outboard and under the sink in the head and shower. Aft of that is the large salon, with a convertible dinette. The settee opposite offers a single berth. The cushions, covers and drapes have all been replaced within the past 3 years. | Galley |
The galley is situated just forward of the companionway. There is an alcohol stove and oven,as well as a Coleman stove, on the port side. There are various lockers as well as dry goods storage in the galley area, as well as an ice box. Facing aft, under the companionway, is a double sink with pressurized hot and cold water. To starboard is the ice box.

The current owner has configured the boat to be sailed short handed, and has added the necessary electronics to ensure his safety and comfort. There is a Radar, GPS/Chartplotter, speed, depth and wind instruments. There is also an autopilot. There is both an A/C and DC system on board. A/C power is supplied through an umbilical, and powers the hot water cylinder, battery charger and various outlets. | Deck |
The wide decks on the boat make it easy to move forward, although the lines are run aft to the cockpit. There is a new furling system on the mast for the main, as well as a CDI roller furler for the genoa. The binnacle is forward, allowing for ease of movement around the cockpit, as well as easy access to the winches for control.
There are four Barient winches in the cockpit, as well as one on the coachroof for the main. There are three Barient winches on the mast. The port and starboard lazarettes are large and will store fenders, lines and other large objects easily. there are two large hatches for ventilation, and the boat has no leaks. The portholes and windows have been rebedded, and the aft cockpit sole has been rebuilt completely. At the time the tank under the sole was replaced. The boat now has a 3 bladed prop, and the stern gland was replaced, as was the shaft.
