| -- DESCRIPTION -- |
This well built river/coastal cruiser has a lot going for it:
All aluminum construction, twin diesels, generator, a/c, and lots of room to liveaboard and entertain. Though technically a houseboat, the quality construction and hull design of this tough Tucker can take you on the Loop or to the Bahamas. Or you can keep her at her riverfront location on the pristine upper St. Johns
River and enjoy an Old Florida lifestyle for a fraction of the cost of a condo.
Recent price drop... trades for truck/rv/motorhome considered! |
| Accommodations |
Skippy sleeps two, or 4 if you use the Cuddy cabin for guests.
She comfortably dines 4 to 6 in the salon.
On the decks, she will enable you to entertain more people than you'd want to.
Skippy is a great boat for "long term cruising", or to travel on. While not a blue water boat, she was built to live on in the Bahamas. She has been mostly a fresh water boat however as most of her years were on the Kentucky Lakes.
She is docked at Acosta Creek Marina on the St. John's River, near Satuma, Florida and the dock is available. If you are a bass fisherman, this would be a great fishing home. If you want to live on the water, she can't be beat!
The mechanics
Skippy is powered by twin 130 HP Perkins Diesels, each with only about 2385 hours on them
She has a 12 KW Onan Generator
She hold 400 Gals of Fresh Water
Her fuel Capacity is 400-600 Gals in two tanks (both full)
Her range is about 1200 miles (if I remember right)
Her average speed is 8MPH
Hull speed is 11MPH
She was re-painted in 2003
Everything works well.
